The Wasp returns in a different disguise, as does Velma Corl with a different agenda. The highlight has the Shadow going in to a phone booth as the bad guys target it with their guns & a bomb. This was the last Shadow novel that is part of an arc with a recurring villain. This was also the second and last of this particular series.
