The experts at "Money" magazine offer sound advice on everything involved in buying a house, condo, or co-op in this clear, concise guide. This book helps consumers construct a winning game plan when purchasing a home that's also a financial investment.
This book is out of date. It is rife with assumptions like "count on your house appreciating" and "let your heart guide your home-buying decisions." While there is some practical advice, and a general introduction to housing markets, the optimism seems inappropriaye for today's homebuyer. Houses are treated more as assets than liabilities, which had me wondering if the author and myself held the same concerns about home-buying at all.
Anyway, a couple of points in there had me thinking. But it's more or less the same old "read the fine print"advice you'll get anywhere.
