Luckily, I got the 1993 edition (original, hardbound) of this book. Had a leisure stroll before reading it. Let me tell the readers frankly that most of the parts in the book do not hold much relevance today - very much has changed between then and now - and we have moved ahead. However, for the interest and also for the things which are 'forever' this is a good and still useful book, more of a guide type.

A popular sociology of modern marriage, making the point that the 50's were perhaps an anomolie and that our romantic myths are doomed. Good strong stuff about very conflicting expectations and unrealistic stories doom the institution as is.
