Pacific Passion, Book 3

In the months they’ve traveled together, Laurin Marshall and Matt Jentry’s attraction has grown beyond spectacular sexual passion into a deeper emotional connection. Still, Laurin wrestles with one last how a water shifter and an air shifter can possibly find permanent common ground.

Matt is content to wait patiently for Laurin to realize he has no desire to change her sky-borne nature. Until a giant golden eagle touches down on the Stormchild and tips the delicate balance of more than just the boat.

Laurin’s obvious affection for the newcomer comes as a shock. And so does the flash of jealousy that interferes with his shamanic ability to heal the man’s malady. While Matt struggles to balance his conflicted responsibilities, Laurin attempts to reconcile her undeniable feelings for one of her kind with her desire for Matt.

Somewhere between the ocean depths and the mountaintops, they need to find a love strong enough to call them both home to the Stormchild.

I won this from Ann Aguire, when she held a contest at Twitter (sometimes Twitter comes at handy, LOL). And realize I have two previous book, then start reading them together.

Matt Jentry and Laurin Marshall.. One is water shifter and Shaman, the other is a powerful air shifter. Even they're so different, but Matt and Laurin complete each other. And Matt finally realized she is his mate. Just need a little work to conviced Laurin's people. To accept him, People of The Sea, to become Laurin's mate.

When they plan to go to Laurin's place, there is an air-shifter landing on Stormchild, their ship. Laurin know him as Kallen, an air shifter that can shift to eagle. Kallen had cursed, he can't shift to his human form. Matt try to resist his jealousy to Kallen, and heal him. It success, Kallen can shift again, but the curse is multilayered. Even Kallen can shift, he can't speak anymore. Matt realized to help Kallen, he need Laurin magic. It's mean he must shared Laurin with Kallen, because their magic work better when they have sex, while he just want Laurin for himself alone. Can Matt do it after all? When Laurin show her appreciation to Kallen, but deep inside she feel guilty and it's like she betrayed Matt? After all, they must face their "storm" to make their relationship work..

I love this one more than 2 previous book. The story is beautifully written, and more hottest, LOL. It show how Matt and Laurin struggle with their problem. Matt with his jealousy to Kallen, but he don't want to act selfish and want to heal him, because Kallen is important to Laurin. Matt afraid Laurin will go with Kallen. Both are air shifter, and he afraid she will left him. Laurin herself still doubt their relationship can't going well, since Matt and her from two different world. First I'm surprised, there are menage scene (even from Stormy Seduction, there are menage too, but not include the main character). But I do realize, Kallen's presence help them to solve their problem.

This is the last story of Pacific Passion series, and it's a good ending! I just hope there more story told about Matt and Laurin in the future..

Matt & Laurin's relationship is going from strength to strength and they both have strong feelings for each other but Laurin is holding something back. As much as she has come to care for Matt she is worried about the differences between them and feels a responsibility towards her own people. When an old friend turns up looking for Laurin's help they are both torn. Matt knows as shaman it is his duty to help break the curse placed on Kellan but his jealousy threatens to get in the way. Laurin is attracted to Kallen but feels like she is betraying Matt but how can she leave her friend to his fate? Can they find a way to resolve things that won't put their relationship at risk.

Silent Storm is the last story in the Pacific Passion series but probably the hottest one yet. I'll admit I've not read a lot of menage stories and I was a bit worried about the effect that it would have on Matt and Laurin's relationship but it managed to show them both how much they really loved each other. I enjoyed the way both characters have different inner struggles going on but are able to work through their issues together and become a stronger couple because of it. Kallen was an interesting addition to the series and I would quite like to read a spin off series telling his story. He came to Laurin and Matt because he knew they were the only ones who could help him but he didn't want to pressure either of them and I respected him for that.

I would recommend reading this series in order but erotic paranormal romance fans should definitely give it a try, they are short, very steamy reads that are sure to get your pulse racing! Although the story is rounded off nicely I feel that there is definitely scope for Vivian Arend to re-visit this couple in the future and I'll be first in the queue to buy the next book if she does decide to write one.

Wow. As the third in Arend's new Pacific Passions storyline I must say this was my favorite. There seemed to be more fleshing out of character along with the hot love scenes. We also got to see a lot more from Matt's prospective than in book 2 and his issues were deep and important. Bringing a third lover into any romance makes things hotter, but very rarely do you see the kind of emotional growth this story has. We also get to see Laurin embracing her differences from Matt and accepting that he carries her heart.
The plot was deeper but not so deep that all you got to read was inner turmoil, there was definitely plenty of fun to be had by all. I am so looking forward to the next in the series

SHORT but ENGAGING KU read.
A very different and intriguing shifter tale. I have read these previously but my reviews are missing.
Not a standalone as all three stories follow on, so you need to be able to read them all.
Enjoyable but strangely enough there is too much sex.
It is needed in this story for a specific reason, yes, Matt and Laurin are super hot for each other, but I was getting bored.
I would have liked to have gone on their journey to the mountains and seen how everything works out at Laurin’s home, as well as seen how Kellan dealt with his horrible brother Kilade.
I have read these previously but my reviews are missing. I have also reviewed the box set.

A healing gift

This is the last book in this set, yet it feels unfinished to me. I want to know what happens to the air clans and how their merged magic changes the rest. They have grown so much since book one and we've only met two of the water clans. I hope the author will revisit these someday.

While still super hot, I envisioned more HEA for these two. They did settle their future together but not really enough. The relationship was decided but not carried out, so still something left unfinished

Warning: Familiar lovers (hot) with old rivals (hotter) and a wild curse-melting ménage (hottest yet). Get ready for one exotic paranormal that will make you look to the skies and sea with longing.

These elements have no desire to be tamed… Pacific Passion, Book 1 As the new traveling doctor for the Pacific Inside Passage settlements, Matthew Jentry balances dual roles for his water-shifter people—caring for their health as a human-trained physician, and for their spiritual needs as a shaman. Distractions of the female kind are not on his agenda, but his magical bloodline makes him a target for every marriage-minded woman within range. There’s something about the mysterious Laurin Marshall, though, that he finds far too enticing. It’s just as well that it’s time for him to move on. Laurin thought she had perfected her guise as a mild-mannered teacher, but the sexual fireworks she and Matt touch off are threatening to blow her cover out of the water. Luckily it’s time for her to catch the boat to her next assignment. When she discovers she’ll be sailing with Matt, she realizes there’s only one thing more dangerous than their unforgettable one-night stand—being trapped with him on a boat that gives “riding out the storm” a whole new meaning… Warning: Contains strong sexual currents and powerful waves of desire that break down inhibitions. Recommended only for those able to navigate through extremely steamy situations, on land and at sea.

Silent Storm is the third book in the Pacific Storm series. Laurin and Matt are still aboard Stormchild, free to begin their lives after the events of the last book made it clear that the Avian shifters were no longer a threat to their happiness. It should be perfect, but Laurin is still holding herself back from Matt. She is not only an avian shifter, she is also a powerful asset to her tribe, destined to enhance the power of whoever she mates with. How can she turn her back on her people to mate with Matt?

Matt is happy to sit back and wait for her to realise that he has no desire to change her. He believes that he has all the time in the world, but then a new arrival on the boat threatens to destroy their world. Kallen is a powerful shifter with a problem. His douche of a brother has put a curse on him that means that he remains in his eagle form. Matt is a Shaman. This isn't a job title, it's a way of life. Everything in him screams at him to help the stricken shifter, in the way only he can. Unfortunately the green eyed monster rears its ugly head because Matt realises that, in order to help Kallen, he has to allow Kallen to share in the magic that he and Laurin release when they have sex.

Laurin has always admired the handsome Kallen. The feelings she harbours towards him are more than friendly, therefore she feels very uncomfortable with him aboard their boat. When Matt tells her what she has to do to break the curse, she is completely conflicted. Having him in their bed feels like betrayal, but can she leave him in trouble when she has the power to help?

This book isn't my favourite of the series (which is the second), but it is a good ending to it, and fits well with the other two books. The scene from book 2, where Laurin watches the highly sexed Otters and their fascinating ritual, paves the way for her participation in the menage, a fact which ties the books together well. The constant referrals to the other book's mean that is probably a good idea to read the series as a whole, although any mention is indepth enough to mean that this is not a necessity.

The whole book was incredibly hot and comes with the added warning it features anal sex and a menage. I'm not going to wax lyrical about the strength of Vivian Arend's writing when it comes to sex scenes, she is fantastic. The smexy scenes are smutty and sensual at the same time, a combination which creates an even deeper connection with the characters. The chemistry between Matt and Laurin is off the charts, but I couldn't say the same for Laurin and Kallen. Usually I'd bitch about this, but it felt right in this case. I couldn't have respected Laurin and Matts relationship if they could share what they have that easily. I respected Kallen entirely. He knew what it would take to break the curse, but wasn't going to push or guilt trip anyone into helping him. The whole situation was satisfying for me, which was incredibly surprising as I usually struggle with the introduction of a menage situation to an existing relationship I have already developed a connection with. I have been very conscious not to give away anymore spoilers than you can get in the blurb, but I will add that the menage scene is one of the most erotic I've read in this category.

Overall, a fantastically erotic end to the series that allows the characters to develop without ever making me question their feelings towards each other. It was just too damn short :D

Silent Storm by Vivian Arend
* I received this ARC free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Silent Storm is the third installment in the Pacific Passion trilogy. Laurin and Matt are getting closer with each day they spend together but she still feels like something is missing. She is an air shifter but has hidden that side of herself for three years. Before she can commit fully to Matt, she must return to her people to make sure she is not needed there.

Matt loves Laurin and knows that she is his other half. He doesn’t want to push her but he isn’t willing to give her up either. He agrees to accompany her to the mountains because he knows that together they can face anything.

When Kallen shows up both Laurin and Matt are left conflicted. As a shaman, its Matt’s responsibility to do what he can to heal Kallen but his jealously gets in the way. Laurin can’t understand her attraction to Kallen, it leaves her feeling restless and confused. In the end, lifelong decisions are made that affect both the air and water shifters.

This was my favorite book in the Pacific Passion series. Matt has always been a stable character but we really don’t see a lot of emotion from him. In this book he really struggles with jealously, to the point that it starts affecting his shaman abilities. It’s nice to see him come to grips with this issue and their relationship strengthened because of it.

Laurin is so conflicted that you feel for her, not! She has the perfect guy that loves her unconditionally and is willing to wait on her. She has a job she loves and now two guys that want her.

Throwing Kallen into the mix was a nice addition. It added an extra level of sexual tension that had the pages smoking. The respect that Matt and Kallen had for each other, as well as Laurin, was a must for the whole thing to come together. The three of them are pure magic together and definitely worth the wait.

Overall I loved this book and would love to see more books in this series. I give Silent Storm 4½ Flaming Hearts.

In this final installment of the trilogy, Laurin and Matt are tested in both their shaman healing powers and in their relationship. Just when it looked like smooth sailing, an air shifter from Laurin’s previous life shows up (cursed) on the deck of their boat. While healing the first few stages of the curse seems easy enough, the last step will require they physically joined… with this new guy.

This might have been foreshadowed a little bit in the last book during the fertility ritual, but I was still a little surprised that Laurin was forced to choose between her sheltered air shifter ways and the more accepted water shifter ways. The air shifter that shows up, however, has no trepidation about joining the two of them, especially if it cures him and gets him into Laurin’s pants (or lack thereof).

While there was a lot of steamy action, maybe I was a little burnt out on the story by book 3. I wish we got to see another settlement to learn a little bit more about their shifter worlds.

This was an interesting twist on the story so far with Matt and Laurin. Laurin is missing home and wants to visit and is stunned, in a good way, when Matt assumes he will be going with her. He wants to stand by her. Before the trip can happen an air shifter comes to them for help. This shifter was a potential mate for Laurin, so things started out awkwardly. Soon the awkwardness leaves as they heal Kallin’s biggest problem, his inability to shift back to human. Matt realizes what it will take to fully cure Kallin, a 3 way romp between the 3 of them to up their magic. Matt lets both Kallin and Laurin know, letting Kallin know that the choice ultimately, would be left up to Laurin. Laurin struggles with this decision as she wants to help Kallin, but not sure about the means. But as this is fiction you know what happens. Laurin embraces the experience, which leads to some fun reading, and in the process Laurin really learns how much she loves Matt.

Matt feels like he might be making some headway with Laurin but she is still worried if she is meant to be with someone of another species. Her old friend shows up needing her help to break a curse. Matt wants to fight for her but knows that he needs to give Laurin her space so she can make up her own mind. The three wind up in a heated ménage leaving this to be the hottest book of the three. This last book really does wrap it all up for you. I enjoyed the way this series was written in separate books. I’m not a very patient person but I can see the draw for Vivian to write them this way. I can’t wait to see what she brings to the readers next!
