When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.
After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."

Played against the background of the universe, the Ultimate knows of Lucifer’s hatred for the vampire breed on Earth. Free will is the key, yet Lucifer is allowed to attempt to coerce and beguile those living on Earth. In the end, it is up to the individual to make the choice and decision, right or wrong and live with the consequences.
Designated a breeder for the Vampire Council, Skye does her duty producing children for her people. This latest pregnancy is different however, this time she will raise the child instead of giving the babe to the father or the Council.
Although it tears at the open wound in his soul, Adrian Vail visits his baby daughter’s grave each year on the anniversary of her death. Adrian renews his vow to never go through the pain of being a father again, the joy, and the ultimate sorrow of losing a child will never be a possibility for him.
As Skye travels to her mountain home to give birth dangerous elements take action against her. Someone wants Skye and her unborn child dead very badly. Her guards are missing and her people do not hear her telepathic pleas for help. Through sheer will and incredible luck Skye ends up under Adrian’s protection, a man who wants nothing to do with a pregnant woman. As a vampire Skye has no business falling under the spell of a human. Logic however turns a blind eye as the two meet the challenge of staying alive and passion becomes love. Vows made in the past turn to ash as they realize they are meant to be together, as a family.
Paving the way for a fascinating alternate paranormal reality, Ultimate Breed is something special. The first story in The Ultimate Chronicles, Ultimate Breed is a clever mix of pulse pounding action and passionate drama. Though Skye is over four hundred years old she’s naïve to the ways of the world, while Adrian is cynical beyond belief. The secondary characters, Bottom, Mike, and the others are also well developed and important to this tale. The Ultimate Breed offers a fresh look at this genre with great success.

Great read.
I always enjoy Ms. Knowles work. Although there were a few grammatical errors, the errors did not take away from the story. Very imaginative. I hope she will make this a series.

Enjoyed reading Skye coming into herself. She realized after breeding all these babies that she wanted to finally raise one. Unfortunately someone close to her wanted her dead. I figured it out in the beginning (because I’m intuitive like that) but it was still great reading. I recommend it.
