Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.
Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.
Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Cars universe continues to perplex me.
It's not for me. It's for Ozman. (Also as someone else said, "it's nice that redneck American kids get their own movie"). He is currently obsessed with all things Cars. And yes, we've watched the movie. But he liked the story and the book and was quite happy with this telling. Easy to read, although we broke it into 4 parts.

This book follows the movie to a T. E-man loves all things cars so this is naturally a favorite. If he got to choose, it would probably be a 5 star, but Mommy is not too big on movies or Disney, so I'm only giving it 3 stars. It's a bit long and a bit too advanced for a 3 year old... but he still loves it.

A hand-me-down that came with a CD. Danny listens to this every night at bedtime. He used to have the book in bed with him. He doesn't so that as often, now, but he reads it on his own. He can also recite much of the text from memory.

Not enough like the movie, and not that interesting. Frustrating for the little guy and annoying for me to listen to. Not worth putting in the CD player. Too short.

Holden likes anything to do with this movie, clothing, shoes, books, and yet I don't think he's seen the movie but a few times. Jillian is indifferent, but she's along for the ride.

Another hand-me-down with a matching CD. Tommy doesn't follow along, but he likes the pictures in the book.

The book sticks pretty close to the movie. A little too long for my 3 yr old grandson, but he did like the pictures and loves being read to.

Read it to my daughter this morning! She kept asking what the names of all the cars were. =o)
