This is a very useful book for anyone with an interest in the periods (Dark Ages/Middles Ages/Renaissance), but a real boon for the WarGamer/Painter. For them it might be the only book they need, if they only game English wars. This sort of one -resource for multiple period is a trove of information with really good illustrations by Don Pottinger. But for the more mainstream reader, there is still amazing amounts of stuff to cover. A strong recommendation for sure.

Many illustrations make this book a fun read. I recommend this title to anyone interested in medieval warfare as a first read.
