One Night With The Alpha is the first book in the Nocturne Bites books. It is full of intrigue, passion, chemistry, shifters and action. This is one of Anna's earlier books and is a quick fun read.
I first read this book back in 2015 and enjoyed it just as much as I did then.

ONE NIGHT WITH THE WOLF by author Anna Hackett is a sensual story of a very alpha heroine wolf, widow of the pack alpha years her senior, needing a hot, passionate man for one night before she takes another old alpha as her mate the next day. And her second, the enforcer, himself an alpha, is in conflict with himself over his desire for her. Even when they are intimate she tries out her alpha voice on him! ONE NIGHT WITH THE WOLF is a hot and sensual book, but it's not an erotica. The writing is beautiful.

ONE NIGHT WITH THE WOLF is one of Anna Hackett's earlier books but it was still a good read. I liked both Jade and Christian a lot and they had excellent chemistry. This one is very short so it's tightly focused on only a few hours of time and doesn't go too deep on characterization. But I love me some werewolves so I was happy.

The anxious and the unwilling
It amazes me how strict the rules are for shifters in these shifter romances. Anna Hackett always has the hot sexy moments interspersed with the Drama/conflict that the couple has to navigate before they can be together and at least it is never cheating or abuse against each other. Cute shirt read and a HEA.

Anna handles different genres as easily as breathing.

Loved every one of Anna Hackett's stories and there's lots of them. Lucky!.
Always well written, always strong plot & characters. Doesn't matter if a full length novel or a novella like this one the quality shines through.

Not this time! Christian and Jade, even the names fit well together! This was a wonderful story to read. I wish it was longer, but its still perfect. Well done Anna!!

Good story
It’s short (typical of Harlequin books, didn’t know Anna had written for them) but great little love story for two characters who deserved a HEA.

This was a short read. I'm a huge fan of Anna Hackett, but this was not my favorite. I can tell she has grown as a writer since this book.
That being said, this is a quick and fun story about alpha wolf Jade looking for a quick fling before marrying a man she isn't interested in. I liked Jade's character. It isn't often that you see female alphas in the spotlight.

Jade Thorne - alpha female of the Thorne pack - elderly & young. She mated an older alpha (80 years old) for protection of her pack... but he has died, and she must mate again, to an older alpha... but the night before the courting ritual, she wants a night of passion...
Christian Tallant came to them a year ago, exiled from his pack, badly injured... and the Thorne pack accepted him... once healed, he became thier 1st enforcer... and Jade wanted him, but knew she should not have him - that he was too dominant, that she would not be able to forget him... he comes to her when he sees her distress and asks her what is wrong... she tells him she wants a viril man for ust one night... he agrees to find her one... but he cannot bring himself to send someone else to her...
He goes to her himself, he tempers his passion to pleasure her - she orally pleasures him... to regain control, they run as wolves, free... and then he wants her to chase him, but after a bit becomes aware she isn't there... he goes back to her and finds her pinned by a wolf, another one nearby... he kills one, the other runs.. they are from his old pack... they consummate their night - and lightnening hits - they are true mates... and he confides he was excelled because he disagreed with the alpha about teen wolves, took their punishment (hence his wounds) but the alpha (his father) punished the teens also (one dying) and exiled Christian ) and he leaves her at dawn...
and uninvited Harper challenges for her - and Christian (his abused son) takes the challenge... and wins... and offers himself, now feeling worthy, to Jade.. ahhhh

A nice little short story about 2 werewolves finding their mate in each other. I like the whole werewolves having 1 true mate and I was looking for that kind of story. This was it. Nice for a quick read.
