Interactive architectureA book that provides an outline of the background of interactive architecture (IA) and a vision for the future. The foundation of the IA is based on physical change and integrated computation, and these changes are made by the timeline of each context. The trends in these two fields merge with what we think of as interactive architecture. This field is still in its infancy and is diversified into a variety of interesting directions for further study and experimentation. This book explores a variety of projects that can symbolize these features and how they fit into IAs contemporary timeline. After looking at where we are now and where we are now, we will look into the future direction of IA and introduce new technologies and trends.
Brimmed with technological innovations of the 2010s, this book is an interesting anachronistic sphinx of a recently bygone and superseded era of architectural futurism. The writing is a bit banal, perhaps maundering, but does provide sources for further reading. Interactive Architecture makes an interesting addition to one's library, but I couldn't imagine its inclusion would be more than a reference for writing one's graduate level thesis.
Thought this book would be better, but it's just a ton of rambling. There's a ton of example projects, but they're not even clearly referenced nor explained.
