From the imagination of Tiana Laveen comes an eye-opening, page-turning, sensually enthralling compilation of diverse love stories presented in the “Cross Climax” series.

“Lights! Cameras! Attraction!” – This is the tale of a single mother simply trying to make ends meet. In desperation and a twist of fate, Monica becomes the latest fresh-meat porn star to hit the industry. Her acting partner and mentor, an Italian gentleman named Antonio, shows her the ropes. Little do both of them know that falling in love could occur with bright lights, movie cameras, and your panties down. The stakes of money and fame are high. Which will win – love or dividends?

“The Bride in Red” – Arashi Takahashi is a Japanese-American psychiatrist and workaholic. He is taken to an urban ballet in which the beautiful Angel Grace takes stage and blows his mind. The whirlwind romance that ensues is soon interrupted by an obstacle course that involves a disapproving family and jealous ex-girlfriend. Angel dances into Arashi’s heart. Now the only question is whether she can survive the monsoon that follows.

“The ‘N’ Word” – Recently convicted Nazi, Aaron Pike, is in Maximum Security for a violent assault. Once a revered white supremacist, Aaron begins a transformation while incarcerated. He participates in an inmate pen pal program with Mia Armstrong, an elementary school teacher. Once they arrange to meet, Aaron is flabbergasted to see that the woman he has fallen madly in love with via letters and phone calls is African-American. Aaron has to make a go back to the world of treachery and hatred or keep his beloved and build a life with her, forsaking his cause and identity while abandoning the group of peers he once called family.

This anthology gets it's 3 stars based mostly on me loving the 3d story 'The N word', about an incarcerated Neo Nazi who falls in love with his pen pal not aware that she is an African-American woman.

I just re-read it because it's been a while and it kept coming up in my mind after reading all those books in this kind of new trend 'white supremacists falling for black women' in IRrs we're having right now. And I kept thinking, didn't Laveen did this already? But because it's been a while that I've read 'The N word', I couldn't remember if I found it better than these 'new' stories that are popping up. After re-reading I must say: yeah, 10 points for originality! And an OK execution. Wish it was longer though, because I missed some more coming to Jesus insights for both characters. But then again, maybe that was what made it good. Because I think Laveen can sometimes over-tell a story. But that is another review. For another book.
I also liked the bonus story revisiting all the characters of the different stories in both volumes of Cross Climax.

And also no more stars because of grammatical issues.

This is a crosspost from my 2014 Amazon review of this erotic IR anthology.

Someone recommended this book of short erotic tales to me and although it was entertaining, there are technical and implausible issues that prevents me from giving it a higher rating. The first story is about a single mother, forced to enter the adult film industry, where she falls for her leading man. The second is about a Japanese businessman that falls in love with a Black Ballerina, this story had the most potential, but didn't quite hit the mark. The third tale was about a incarcerated Neo Nazi who falls in love with his prison pen pal unaware that she is an African-American woman. On the positive side, I give the author kudos for exploring themes outside of the box (or the norm that's usually prevalent in this genre). But on the negative side there were grammatical issues, a lot of telling and not showing and trite, unappealing sex scenes that really took the eloquence out of the erotica (and yes, erotica can be eloquent...not just streams of smut). Overall, for a couple bucks this book wasn't bad and I look forward to checking out the author's future works. I know she can only grow from this point on.

This is Tiana Laveen's second set of IR short stories in the CC II series. This volume shares the stories of 3 IR couples and their struggles. Each story is beautifully told but the one that affected me most was Arron and Mia's story. I won't give it away but this story really demonstrates the power of love. This volume also has a bonus in that it ends with the "counselor/journalist" revisiting each couple from both volumes after a two year gap and catching up with their lives. LOVED THIS BOOK! Makes me want MORE.....

I found Cross Climax II to be just as fascinating as the first book. Three stories about 3 interracial couples and the path they took in their relationships to get their happily ever after. My favorite story is the "N" word because that couple was the most diverse. The bonus at the end where a follow-up was done on each couple was the icing on the cake. I loved both books.
