The silly bugs are having a party. There is so much to do! The ants spend many busy hours making patterns with the flowers. They place the flowers two by two. First red, then blue. Then red, then blue. The simple rhyming text and the quirky and cute bug characters make learning about patterns easy and fun!
Another wonderful book read by Neo, dealing with bugs and patterns. In the lead-up to their big night, a number of bugs are preparing themselves for the event. Scrubbing shells and polishing the floor, as well as setting out flowers to decorate the stage are all part of the preparatory work. Once the fireflies have their lights affixed, it is time to show off all the talent in the bug world. With rhymes and many sight words, the story flows well under Neo's narration, helping him to see all there is in the world of independent reading. I'm proud to see him tackling new books each weekend.
An interesting book that introduces the concepts of patterns alongside adorable insects. There were a few stretch words for my son, but overall it was a very good early reader book for him to tackle in one sitting.
The bugs come together to put on a show, they dance and sing and the fireflies put on a light show.
I really like that repetition is used a lots and it talks about patterns which I feel is good because patterns I feel are normally missed with little kids. This book was also very bright with lots of colors. The only real issue I had was that the binding of the book cut out part of the picture in the center, but that may have just been the edition that I was reading.
