Book two of the Soul Searchers series picks up where Broken Wings left off. Rio Laraquette's back in Vegas and settling into her normal routine--except that Eddie LaCall has invaded her space. The two share a mutual attraction and an undeniable connection.

When Eddie's scarred past comes back to haunt him his attachment to Rio strengthens even though neither completely trusts the other. Just when it looks like a poker tournament is bringing them together, their budding relationship gets backburnered when a stalker goes from creepy to dangerous, making several attempts on the reluctant lovers' lives.

Will these two souls--who've been searching for each other across eternity--finally get to share a lifetime together, or will they once again end up as star-crossed lovers?

Vegas, Baby by Sandra Edwards is book #2 in the Soul Searcher series and it is a wonderful continuation of Rio Laraquette's story. In this story Rio is back in Vegas doing her job as an FBI agent. When Rio is teamed up with a new partner that's when things get interesting. For Rio's new partner Eddie LaCall is a dead ringer for Tajan who we met in Forgotten Soul and who Rio yearned for. Both Rio and Eddie are dealing with stalkers, Rio's stalker is unknown and Eddie is an old girl friend who won't except that it is over, these stalkers complicate both Rio and Eddie's undercover work that they are assigned to. Along with the secrets that Eddie is keeping and the attraction between Rio and Eddie this makes Vegas, Baby a great story I could not put down till I finished it. Sandra Edwards's writing kept me interested from the first to the last page. Check it out, I feel you will not be disappointed. Great interaction and wonderful characters makes this a good read in my opinion.

Lisa's Review

Ms. Edwards has a smash it on her hands with this sequel to Broken Wings. I knew when I finished Broken Wings that Rio was going to have her hands full with Eddie literally and figuratively in the next book. I have been patiently waiting and will say Vegas, Baby was definitely worth the wait. Rio and Eddie are a hot combination of sexy bad ass meets dark, fearless hero. This book is packed with excitement, intrigue, danger and sensual love scenes that will warm you up on a cold night.

Not near as good as the 1st book. This one was supposed to be hard-bitten and grittier. The law enforcement and criminal aspects were not well done. I, a federal agent, am never going to let my woman out of my sight so I can keep her safe. I can't even trust all of my co-workers. Hey, unknown security guard, watch her. I have to go somewhere. WTF?!?!?! Not verbatim, but gives the gist of 'not well done'. I could go on...and on...'nuff said.

I absolutely loved this book! Rio is a spitfire. She doesn't take anything from anyone. And even has a hard time letting Eddie rescue her. And I love how Eddie just has to give her a smile and she has to fight hard to keep her knees from turning into jello. I can't wait to see if there is a third installment.

Love the suspense, action and romance. Who could ask for more? Star-crossed lovers try it again. Sandra is a very talented author, she knows how to keep the action going and draws you right into the story. I love Rio, she is strong, sassy and independent, Eddie is a smart, sensitive hunk. I can't wait for their story to continue.

This was a so-so read. It was not tightly plotted like Broken Wings. I liked the poker story but the rest was unbelievable and unrealistic.

Good book but not as good as Forgotten Soul, the first book in the series. The book seemed to jump around a bit, kinda distracting.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed book #1, but this one didn't work as well for me.
