Crispin is the pig who has it all to himself. And the last thing he wants is to share it with little piglets. But like it or not, three little piglets have just joined his making noise, making messes, and making Crispin miserable. Will Crispin ever learn to love these little piglets? Or will he turn out to be the big bad brother?
A delightful sequel to Crispin: The Pig Who Had It All that has Crispin dealing with getting siblings. At first Crispin doesn't have much of an opinion about there being a new baby except that it would be nice to have someone to play with. However, it turns out that his mother has triplets and the babies get all of everyone's attention. Fortunately with some help from some friends, Crispin learns how to play with the babies and they all become close. It's a fun touch that the babies love the Big Bad Wolf song. Dewan tells a sweet, warm hearted story with wonderful detailed illustrations that will pair well with Pig Pig Grows Up by David McPhail.
This was a cute story that may help young children accept a new baby coming into the family. Again, I wish I could have gotten the first book of the series, but my library didn't have it.
-First of all if you are looking for a new take on the 3 Little Pigs this is not it. This book is about some pigs whose favorite story is the 3 little pigs
-Topic i the emotional issue of a new sibling, but doesn't do anything to help the older child name what he is feeling and get his needs met, rather, it ignores the needs of the older sibling entirely
Mommy says: Standard plot of kid gets new baby siblings, hates siblings, learns to love siblings. Too far below Cana's reading level at this point, but cute for younger kids.
