The Wonders of Nature Sketchbook begins by giving a simple tutorial on shading, holding one's pencil, etc. There are various animals which are shown - animals that one would find in the woods. Various birds, turtles, deer, frogs, wolves, etc. are shown in different poses and with different light. I thought this book was more of a beginners book looking at the cover but once I began going through the images, I decided that it is more for the intermediate drawer. I have picked out several different images that I would like to try using this book even though I consider myself in between a beginner and an intermediate.

This is a good book, well written. It's a little bit more of a "draw these shapes, then put them together into an animal" drawing instruction book that I was expecting. (I wish Amazon had a "see inside" section for this book.) I think it would be helpful to people who are looking for that kind of a book. I agree with the other review that said it was probably more of an intermediate book than a beginner one.
