it is just a bit of light reading and the publication side of things could have been a bit more polished but the stories are interesting and it is cool that someone bothered to collect a world history on this topic.

EDIT that what i wrote here previously didnt do justice to the unbiased compilation of these many stories all so different in their own way. i found it to be an interesting read.

A very readable book about people who choose to live alone, often in total isolation. Its an interesting book for dipping in an out of. More interesting that I expected to be honest.

A very interesting subject. I very much like the idea of, or certain aspects of, living as an anchoress or ascetic.
