Relativity theory and a priori knowledge large print bookMeet Einstein and Kants philosophy changes! How did the theory of relativity affect philosophical thinking? Prior to Einstein, philosophers interested in physical sciences thought in Newtonian terms. The Newtonian tradition in philosophy is represented by Kants philosophy, which Kant attempted to justify the laws of mechanics through analysis of human reason. Hence, the philosophers who had learned Einstein had to free themselves from Kant, and this process was slow, not through a single radical process.
