Ten-year-old Duncan Roderick is captured by the Iroquois in Maryland. A captive in a strange land, he soon turns more savage than civilized, more embittered than loving. Dubbed the Colonial Devil, Duncan escapes and returns to England to reclaim his title--and his bride, Jillian Hollingsworth. Together, they become pawns in a murderous conspiracy--and discover the splendor of love.
A nice and well paced historical romance with a mystery, a villain and enough twists in the plot to make this an interesting read.
There were a few things, I didn’t like: the cliched heroine (a fiery and feisty red-head) full breasts included, a grumpy hero with an abandonment complex and a beautiful body, a sneaky and pathetic villain who was gay (sleeping with everyone who was willing, it seemed). The end was too kitschy.
