A cleverly designed book that introduces another land, another culture, another ecosystem. My criticism? I wish there had been a couple pages to introduce Nanta, her family, and her home before launching into the search.

Nanta is a Masai girl curious about a lion that is eating supplies from her village. while the men are gathering to hunt for the lion Nanta goes on her own adventure. Along the way she meets all kinds of animals and interesting scenary along the way. This book is colorful and interactive. It uses diecut half cut pages to shape the landscape and form the surprise at the end. Does Nanta find the lion? you'll have to read it to find out. I recommend for children and adults of all ages.
