After a traumatic and mysterious fall off a cliff, which results in amnesia, virginal twenty-one-year-old Scarlett Rose is saved by seven sexy cowboy brothers. Frightened and disoriented, her confusion peaks when she immediately feels an inexplicable, intense attraction to the beautiful strangers, including a doctor, a mysterious nightshift ranch hand, a set of triplets, and a set of twins!

Scarlett's reality receives another sucker punch when she discovers her heroes are actually Texas longhorn-shifter cowboys who claim she is their destined, life-long mate.

The Lenox brothers have waited their entire lives to find the one woman they were born to share. Their newly discovered mate exceeds their wildest dreams. She’s gorgeous, witty, and her blood-red lips drive their bulls wild with passion.

But this Texas yellow rose has thorns. She demands outside contact, but the men insist on protecting her from the mysterious person who hurt her. They decide the only way to get their stubborn mate to stay is if they make sure she never wants to leave.

I knew what I was getting myself into when I picked up the book, in fact I couldn't help myself because this was an erotic retelling tale of Snow White but no dwarves (thank god- to know there is probably 10001 porn movies and who knows what else is out there) which isn't that exactly sexy an image and tarnish my childhood memories thank you very much. But this is the start of Siren's new line of Sextreme line of erotic romances that has more than four ding dongs. And you guessed right in this book there is 7 ding donged heroes, who are all brothers and top that, they are shapeshifting Longhorns. When I read they turned into bulls with long horns - I could not help myself! I mean who can't resist the idea of a cowshifter which is the strangest animal form I have read (well there was the duck-shifter story but that doesn't really count).

Scarlett wakes up after falling a cliff, and realises she has amnnesia due to her fall. Wondering who she and where she is, she encounters a herd of brothers who live close by in a ranch and they soon tell her that she is their long awaited mate.

There was a lot of innuendo and a few funny moments, some intentionally and unintentionally. There is also several hilarious scenes where the brothers get really possessive or HORNY with the sight of blood or red on Scarlett- like real bulls, they get riled up in a lot of ways at red. I really dread to be near them in a traffic jam though!

However the main disappointment was the sex scenes, I really couldn't get engaged with them, and the fact she was a virgin who lost her inhibitions within a day to jump most of these brothers bones was a bit of a leap. I think for me, I prefer more of an emotional connection with the characters and I am not a huge fan of menages where the participant just interacts with the heroine and not with the male counterparts. It doesn't feel like a real menage, and in this case Loving Scarlett has the brothers factor, I don't think I would have picked this up if I have known this, its too close to incestery for me. But if the one set of twins, and triplets and the three brothers thing didn't engage me enough - the older brother acts and is referred to as a father because he is around 40 years old while the youngest are in their 20s and that includes Scarlett.

I can see the appeal of these of books but for me I give it one star for the story/characters and plot and another just for the red motif.

ON Crack!

Lola Newmar MUST have had the chance to make this ONE fat book vs a bunch of 50 page dohickies.

I THINK because it's broken up there is no way to make each individual book good.

Book #1:

Pros:
Sexy men
Hot chick
A Ranch

Cons:
Men with all of their emotions on the OUTSIDE. Like one big ol' WOUND.
Chick who feigns no interest, though she is interested though she's not though OMG she's IN LOVE.
She has no memory.

I think the BEST part of this book was when whoever pushed Scarlett off the cliff or whoever hired the dude to do it was going to come back and FIND Scarlett. Note on the panties, LAME. Note she READS then doesn't tell the guys about because she wants to preserve their first night together? LAME.

This book, maybe the entire series, needs a rewrite. I think it lacks organization, is it organization, who did the outline for this book? They should be fired. Who was the CE, fire them for not telling the author the book sucked the way it is. Publisher, it's probably your fault too. Oh and PUBLISHER, I refuse to pay $5 for each of the REST of the books in this "series". TSK TSK. You are pricing these WAY over what a baby book should cost.

2 stars is nice, I'm being nice. 1 because it was printed. 1 because it was published. That's all. It should be 1.5 stars because the publisher sucks too.

The Book Dragon has returned with a tale of caution and woe. There is not enough mind bleach in the world to rid her of the horrors she has seen in her absence from the blog. Of course, I have returned just to share the horror with you. Don't you feel special?!

Now, to the review.

People. Oh, PEOPLE.

This book is crazy. And not in a good way. It’s just not right when an erotica leaves you amused and confused instead of turned on. Also, head’s up—naughty words and spoilers ahead.

It’s about one girl getting her freak on with 7 brothers, who are longhorn (yes, longhorn cattle) shifters. It opens up with her having amnesia at the bottom of a cliff. She obviously fell. Also, clearly her name is Scarlett Rose, because the locket around her neck says so.

She’s a pertyful amnesiac who is also the destined mate of the brothers. ALL OF THEM.

Which they can tell by her scent.

Also, she’s a virgin.

Wut.

Considering this book was an erotica, it took an awfully long time to get to the smex. I mean, by chapter 5, the most we had was a hard-on.

Instead of a traditional review, I will give you Book Dragon’s thoughts as she read through this story. Here is a blow-by-blow (hur hur hurrrr) of some notes I took and text messages I sent while reading this story:

Oh, Jesus. The heroine has violet eyes. I CAN SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING ALREADY.

7 brothers AND SHE’S A VIRGIN. Yeah. Also, one of them is a doctor. Dr. Tran, perhaps?

(Seriously, if you don’t get the reference, you need to DROP EVERYTHING AND WATCH THIS NOW.)

HE…IS A MAN OF HONOR.

ROFL his name is Dr. Leo Lenox

AUGH RANDOM STATEMENT OUT OF NOWHERE ABOUT HER “PUSSY CREAMING”

Bathroom chandelier wut??

PERVY VOYEUR LONGHORN IS A VOYEUR. AND PERVY.

40% in and it’s finally on like donkeykong.

I think.

Nevermind. Cockblock by apparent bull-shifter psychic MAGIC. Wut.

!!!!!!!!!

ONE OF THE BROTHERS IS WHIPPING OUT THE WANG. BUT THE GIRL ISN’T IN THE ROOM, ONLY HIS BROTHERS.

What I don’t even

And they talk about their boners and rib each other about jacking off since she got there. Wut.

Helloooooo infodump.

She just called one of the guys on pitching a tent!

AHAHAHAHA! The same brother excuses himself right as they’re all sitting down to dinner “to wash his hands” (aka rub one off).

Aaaaaand her pussy leaks from a handshake during introductions. I think she needs an adult diaper or a cork.

Her lips become red from eating, thereby becoming invitation for sexual assault. Methinks the pr0nz are imminent.

Or not. At 50% into this mess, I feel gypped.

And now the attempted murder subplot appears. Wut.

The wangsting is wangsty. And boring.

Heh. Now we’re getting to it.

Of course Leo spanks her in front of 5 of his brothers as punishment for her eavesdropping on their conversation. *facepalm*

Now a brother is holding her still against her will while Leo shifts—in his livingroom, mind you—into a longhorn. *doublefacepalm*

HOLY SHIT. His cock hangs to midthigh when flaccid!

OH JESUS ENOUGH WITH THE INFODUMP TALKFESTS JUST BONE ALREADY. Seriously, at 67%, WHY IS THERE NO PR0N YET.

70%. FINALLY. Finger penetration. Done as unsexily as possible.

Wait. He jerks off while fingerfucking her. WHAT WAS THE POINT. Worst. Sex scene. Ever. *facepalm*

The rest of the brothers show up. Oral, tit play and dirty talk. NO ACTUAL SEX. Also, “her creaming cunt” just made my girlparts go “ewwwwww”. I think this woman needs to see a gyno, stat.

Yay. She’s un-virgin-ified. But—ugh. She’s leaked on the bed. And the other brothers are watching/yanking from the bedroom door.

I just said “oh GOD” out loud at “the squishing sound of her juices”

...

And that did it. I couldn’t finish this story, even though I was at about 95%. The strawberry girl (a destined one-in-a-million type thing where the shifters’ children will only be born human, not carrying on the shifter curse) thing just killed me.

Scarlett awakes and finds herself at the bottom of a cliff alone, hurt, and with no idea of who she is or where she came from. Stumbling onto a ranch she finds herself in the arms of a handsome cowboy not realizing that her life has changed for ever. For twins Denzel and Devlin, triplets Sonny, Rhett, and Levi, and brothers Brody and Leo they have finally found their mate.

Explaining to Scarlett is going to big difficult, with one of the abilities the long horn shifters see that someone had pushed her off a cliff and her life is in danger. Not only that, Scarlett is not a meek waif, she is a fiery tempered Texas rose and conivincing her to stay for happily ever after will take some patience.

I was suckered again, blast Siren! So this is a series, I guess I did not look at it closely and see it was one of those that don't end until the end. I thought some of it was really funny but it has a few weak spots in the story as well. Will read the next one to see if I want to continue on, I am curious about who is after her.

First of the Scarlett Rose and the Seven Longhorns collection, getting hotter with each story. The Lenox brothers have waited their entire lives to find the one woman they were born to share. Each book wil contain a story of one of The Lenox Brothers.

The Story
After a traumatic and mysterious fall off a cliff, which results in amnesia, virginal twenty-one-year-old Scarlett Rose is saved by seven sexy cowboy brothers. Frightened and disoriented, her confusion peaks when she immediately feels an inexplicable, intense attraction to the beautiful strangers, including a doctor, a mysterious dark nightshift ranch hand, a set of young triplets, and a set of twins!

The Cover
The cover is just ugly. It would be nice if someone put a little effort in designing covers like this! I don't understand the concept of al the faces of the boys. It would be nice if the reader can make up the faces with the names from the book.

My Take
Simple writing and for the genre just two hot and steamy scenes.
I really hope the next one will be more exiting.

Wendy's Review

Wow Lola starts out this book with excitement from the very beginning. Scarlett has amnesia from a fall and ends up on a ranch in Texas with 7 gorgeous men all of whom can be longhorn bulls in a matter of seconds. Reaching out and trusting these 7 men will be her greatest challenge and all she knows is she feels safe with them.

The Lenox brothers are: Leo, Levi, Denzel, Devlin, Sonny, Rhett and Byron. All seven had been waiting for their mate a long time and when they saw Scarlett they knew but they also knew they had to control their longhorns as not to scare her off. What they didn’t count on was that Scarlett was just as affected by their passion as they were and was more than willing to be with all seven brothers for love.

Lola wrote a story that has you guessing what sexual encounter would come next and waiting to see the brothers mate their woman. The story has unexpected twists that have you reading and wanting more. Lola's style of writing has you wanting more before you are ready.

Story one of this series, Seven Longhorns, was amazing and has you anticipating story two.

I did not expect high literature with this book. What I expected was a fun, sexy romp where the heroine would interact with some sexy brothers. I was disappointed.

The writing itself was juvenile, as if a high-schooler were writing feverishly in her notebook between classes. There was oopmh to the writing, if you know what I mean, and the characters all seemed like little paper dolls on the page.

Please don't get me wrong, I don't expect a ton of character development, but I honestly kept getting the brothers confused, except for Doc and the one who worked the nightshift.

I thought Scarlett was silly and the dialogue was bad all the way around.

If you want a good laugh, pick it up, but if you want a sexy read, this isn't it for you.

This is a review for Books 1-3 in the series. I came across this series while looking for a new Ménage series to read. This is not your typical shapeshifter ménage book because the men in this one turn into longhorns. I have never read a book with that particular shape shifting animal. This was actually a surprisingly good series. The only thing I did not love was how fast she falls into bed with the men. I mean after one day she is "in love" not possible! I know that it is supposed to be a fated mating thing but this was pushing it. Other than that if your looking for some steam give this a shot.

So bad it's funny! Seriously! snorting your coffee through your nose funny, but it's not what the author intended, I hope. Not particularly hot erotically speaking.
The heroine will give you whiplash with her moods. In one sentence she has rage boiling through her at the presumtuous remarks of one of the many heroes but will be relaxing by the end of it.
I makes me think a 14 year old girl whose only experience with sex is from reading letters to the editor in a porn mag might have writtten this(ick! I know).
If you want a laugh go for it!! :-))

Would not normally read a menage novella with (I can't believe it) seven brothers and one "mate" but I was fascinated with the idea of bovine shape shifters. It certainly was different! It is the first in a series about these brothers and was way too brief to be compelling. But if one is into the short story mode, it was an OK read.

Honestly I'm so conflicted I don't even know what to say. It wasn't downright horrible but man it needed help. Sad to say I don't even care who's trying to kill her. The way she runs hot and cold and slutty I might want to knock her off too.

I won't be checking the other books out.

This is another of those short story series where each book is dependent upon the other so readers must read them in order. Its not the best of them but its okay... maybe it'll get better...
