If The author had stuck to the adventure parts of the story, this actually wouldn't be a bad fluff/vacation read. Anyone familiar with "Chariots of the Gods," Stargate, or other ancient aliens motifs will recognize elements here, though the author's addition of Bigfoot to her mythos is unique and clever. I found her characters interesting, the plot fast-paced, and the story engaging. Obviously, not great literature but a legitimate fun read. My primary objection, aside from the cover art, was the romance subplot. Far from adding anything compelling to the story, the romance moments were annoying in their tendency to turn the rather kick-ass female protagonist into a bit of a twit. Still, not a bad choice for summer poolside reading. I can't see myself seeking out he other books in the series, but this one had its moments.

Okay, so just finished this one and it wasn't what I was expecting. I enjoyed the way this mystery was revealed. I liked that it was a multifacited mystery. I didn't enjoy the romance at the beginning, it was very high schoolish, but as you moved into the story it got better. I liked this look at the history of humans and made you think. I liked the tie around the world. This story is in many ways like those biblical novels, if you have very definite pre conseptions about evolution, it probably isn't the book for you. If you are more open minded and willing to read a novel that makes you question beliefs, this is the novel for you! I am ready to look up the next one, to see where this goes. This was a fun ready, but you couldn't just turn your brain off. At times the violence was to much for me, and not completely in character with who I found Katy to be.

I got this book because I had nothing else to read at the time...I am so glad I did...lots of adventure, escapes from hairy hominids and alien vessels...loved it , loved the characters of Katy ,Rick and Charlie...throw in a bad guy who turns out not to be one and you have a great storyline...Katy and Rick go searching for Charlie, who happens to be Rick's father and get surprised by a tribe of Bigfoots...story is well thought out

Great! Very interesting! It makes me think that someday I might meet one of them because I live in the woods of the Northwest. Many people want to borrow this book. Great book!
