intro logic textbook. no math background required, fun for the whole family. solving a problem set leaves you with a rush like a stimulant high. doing this kind of shit will make you a better thinker. because it doesn't matter what kind of personality you have, or what you're doing in your life: it helps to be clear.

As logic textbooks go, it was all right. Straightforward, mature, and covered all the bases, plus had very useful tables of theorems. I just wish there had been more example exercises with solutions, of which there were few. It would have also benefited from more visually obvious headings--lord knows that in desperation I often flipped through countless pages just trying to find the right heading...

ANYWAY IT'S JUST LOGIC AND YOU CAN BASICALLY LEARN IT FROM THE INTERNET, AMIRITE.

Students tend to find this book difficult because the language is pretty technical. As an instructor this is my favourite logic textbook to teach from because the language is precise and careful, there is a great mix of easy and challenging exercises, the derivation system is extremely intuitive and requires very little memorization from students. I also think that the system of introducing theorems as a way of shortening derivations helps students to get to the "aha moment" where they get how everything fits together.
