Pikachu’s Rescue Adventure is a retelling of the animated short that plays before Pokemon The movie: 2000 Power of One. Unlike the original short though, we have the added twist that Ash, Misty and Tracey are telling the story to relieve their boredom. This new spin on the short makes the narrative fun to follow without trying to replicate the short which originally consisted of just the Pokemon. The only discrepancy I found is that the author describes Elekid as orange, when it is more a goldenrod color.

If you enjoyed the original animated short, or you just need something nice and easy to read as a Pokemon fan I recommend checking out Pikachu’s Rescue Adventure. This book includes eight pages of full color pictures from the animated short and comes in paperback and library hardback editions.

This was a fun little book. I am not sure where I got it - it probably belonged to my younger brother at some point. It would be a great easy read for a young one who enjoys the subject matter.
