The African Bible

Rate this book
To answer the needs of the African people and the invitation of John Paul II echoing the voice of the African Bishops, the Daughters of St Paul courageously undertook the project of publishing a Bible for the peopel of Africa. The United States Catholic Conference generously offered the translation of the biblical text (The New American Bible) and the Daughters of St Paul appoiinted two general editors, who in collaboration with more than 30 biblical scholars as contributors, mostly Africans, from all over the continent, worked hard for almost three years to produce the present work.

The Bible wants to be "African" as much as possible. It is a Bible with a study guide for prayer and reflection, according to the expressed wish of the African bishops. It is enriched by intoructions, notes, comments, cross-references and illustrations.
