Three strong-minded women live their lives on the fringe of romance and relationship. Rebecca, a bereaved widow, must deal with her attraction to a man whose body and soul have been ravaged by war-time violence. Daisy has silently borne her deep love for her older brother's best friend since they were children, wondering if her beloved will ever see her for the woman she has become. Finally, there is Claire, who rejects her fianci after he refuses to go to war in the aftermath of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Three women, three hearts, three stories of love lost to unavoidable circumstances and redeemed in remarkable and unexpected ways.
awesome book. This is a keeper. the first story was my favorite but all three were good stories with good lessons. Set in the backdrop of the aftermath of WWII, three couples have to overcome their personal stumbling blocks to achieve a closer relationship with God which leads them to one another.
The first was good. The second had drama that can only happen in a Christian novel where two single people kissing after a dinner can be scandalous. The third did make me cry, but I felt like he created drama by not explaining himself in the beginning.
I liked these three stories. If I had one critical thing to say about them it would be that they ended abruptly....I wanted more from the ends but I still would recommend this book.
