The heroine Olivia travels back to her home town for the first time in 15 years. She is nervous as she hasn't had much contact with her family after her father was disappointed by her supposed actions that led to the end of her marriage. She is even more nervous when she runs into her ex-husband Joel, the hero. We discover that Olivia and Joel married young and their marriage ended after Olivia had a miscarriage but Joel thought she had had an abortion and refused to believe Olivia. They try to be civil to each other despite the fact that there is still a lot of animosity between them, as well as the undeniable attraction they still feel for one another. In the time they have been apart both Joel and Olivia have found success in their careers as well as marrying other people and divorcing. They begin to spend time together and rekindle both their friendship and their desire. But Olivia's new found happiness turns to hurt when Joel still refuses to believe what happened 15 years ago.

I enjoyed this book, the reconciliation story is really well done and very satisfying to read. I liked both the hero and heroine, they are two well developed and complex characters. The chemistry between them is also very intense. I wasn't too keen on the whole 'misunderstanding' and the jealous other woman trope, I feel it cheapened the story a little.
And, it really annoyed me that the title and blurb are so misleading. Even though this isn't down to the author, I just found it quite off-putting.

Nevertheless, this is a well written and nice romance.

The H and h were childhood sweethearts who got married too young. A marriage that did not survive because of a misunderstanding caused by a jealous lie.

After hearing the lie that he believed, the H did not believe the h's explanation and walked out in their marriage. The h left home and moved to London, divorced the H and built a life of her own.

Fifteen years later she returns to her hometown and finds a mature H who is still holding on to the beliefs he had. Even so, she finds herself still attracted to him and it became only a matter of time before they fall in bed again.

The person who told the lie was jealous of the h's relationship with the H and wanted him for herself. The stupid H eventually marries the witch and they have a son together. But the love she wanted never happened because of his feelings for the h.

I enjoyed the book. It was a sad story of fifteen years lost because of a jealous witch and an idiot H.

The hero and heroine were childhood sweethearts. They got married when he was 20. She was 18 I think.

She got pregnant and knew that he would be unhappy working at her father’s farm and if he had to study further she needed a job. She went to a clinic to talk about abortion but miscarried after coming back home. The other woman told the hero his wife aborted his baby.

He was immature.

There was a divorce. Both got remarried. He to the criminal other woman and had a son.

After 15 years heroine came back to be with her ailing father.

She had got divorced and was moving back to the UK.

Hero now worked as a professor at a technical college. He was an AI expert. He had done computer engineering when heroine was away.

Both had gained experience in life.

One look at each other and they knew the love still was there.

They skirted around each other till finally sorting all issues.

I’m taking away one star because of hero’s believing the other woman. Also his attitude to his son. Nope. He was a loving father. Took him to Disney world etc.

Still.

A bit self centred.

Finally there’s an epilogue. They’re living in Boston. He’s teaching at MIT.

There’s a baby.

The son is with them.

They’re planning to go back.

I almost felt jealous of the kind of obsession they had for each other.

That’s my review.

This was about two people who were married when she was eighteen, he twenty. She had a miscarriage and the marriage was over. The lies told to everyone about her destroyed the marriage. He didn't believe her. She left and moved to London. Later remarrying and moved to the U.S. Now fifteen years later she is back. He had remarried also but had a son now. Can they lay aside the past? Or will one lie still have the ability to hurt forever?

Contemporary romance about a couple getting back together 15 years after their marriage broke up, eventually sorting out their misunderstandings and arguments about their past. This is not a "knocked up" or "secret baby" book, and is really quite good.

I do not like stories about real life, because in books, I wish to escape it. However, I must admit, I loved this book. After I picked it up, I couldn't put it down until it was finished.
This is really a lovely and fun story. I couldn't stop giggling all through the book.

I am having a hard time getting over the fact that a husband would take the words of a woman who has a crush on him over his wife's and think he deserves a hard kick in the groin area if not to his head.

2.5 - 2 star for me Asshole mmc believed someone else who was not even a friend instead of his own wife. He thought she had an abortion instead of a miscarriage. He didn't believe her even when she kept denying the abortion and left her to suffer alone. I found this book very average. And the stupid fmc forgives him so easily As if it was not a big deal. Infact she was the one to go to him after the truth comes out and not him! Another fact I didn't like was that he went on to marry and have a kid with the same OW who lied about the heroine's abortion. And the fmc married and divorced a gay! So while he enjoyed a sexual life the poor fmc was celibate for so long!
