Writing wasn’t horrible but there are many horrific events that occur to the victim… and a cat does get injured in this book. Not for the sensitive

The book keeps shifting perspectives, which takes me out of the story.

Starts out with pretty normal mystery book setup. Then out of left field, csa, and really poorly handled at that. That was my main issue but I needed the resolution of finishing it. Comparatively, the fatphobia isn’t so bad but “She roared in fat laughter” is such a bad sentence.

Very good series if you police procedurals. Good character development.
