Honestly, I was disappointed with this book. I do love the return of our characters, but the storyline seemed very rushed and not fully thought out. The entire fight with Abaddon was hyped up so much, and yet was barely a fight at all! Also, probably my largest issue with this book, and the series as a whole, was the lack of storyline around Raine. The fact that he was half demon half guardian was the gigantic secret the entire time, and yet there was no big reveal (except to Tavi). I kept expecting his heritage to play a large role somewhere in the series, and yet it never happened. It basically made that whole part of the storyline completely unnecessary.

Overall I enjoyed the series, it was what I had wanted when I first began reading them. However, towards the end it is harder and harder to shake that the characters themselves are quite hollow. There is real opportunity for the characters to be explored throughout the series - both Nova and Raines lose someone close to them due to their own involvement and they barely touch on the grief. The relationship between Tovi and Raines is also unexplored to the point that their scenes together are uncomfortable and weird. Why would she be at the end of their bed or telling Raines that their future would have been different if she knew his secret, right in front of his girlfriend that she apparently likes? I would also argue that Nova's lack of response to this is hugely jarring. The possibility of soul bonding was brought back in and then never followed. Nova also never confronted Raines over the fact he had a future planned with Tovi and none with her. I feel like there were many avenues that were unexplored that would have enriched the story and heavily aided character development. Additionally, I feel like the enemies in the series were ridiculously simple to defeat. This was easier to accept when it was a disgruntled professor or, despite the underwhelming defeat of her, Nova's preoccupied cultists of a mother. However, when the enemy is Satan himself and all Nova had to do in the scenario was wind up her high school nemesis so she would do the job for her, it felt ridiculous. There was no weight to the situation and this for me was a disappointing ending.

That being said, I did find myself carrying on reading so the text itself was engaging and I liked reading a series centred on demons. I enjoy the friendships between the characters and I think this was a real strength of the books.

3 stars meh

The ending was hella anticlimactic. Still tons of typos. R & N never even said the "L" word and that was weird to me, given the circumstances. Idk. Just meh.

This book is infantile. Simplistic, childish and ridiculous. There are tons of mistakes in plot that author ignores completely. Lets try to sort through some glaring ones.
Wilder-evil mastermind was alive and without powers at the portal to Purgatory when previous ended. At the beginning of this he is dead(how?) and buried with respect (?). There were no consequences mentioned for his escape from prison and our idiots championing his cause. Nada. That storyline is completely dismissed and forgotten.
Raines had a family situation all through the series with terrible secrets that were only hinted at and also his relationship with Tavi that was hinted at. Now the series are over and none of that were addressed, explained or was even relevant. What was the "f....ng" point?
The whole Tavi storyline. Why? All it did was muddle up the plot and was never really addressed.
The mole in Hades. The big betrayal it was told to be. Yet for the whole book nothing happened. No plans were made, no important information this mole could have passed on. What exactly he was spying on? The great reveal- Raines and Nova making out. Really? How more ridiculous could it get?
The idea of Nova being a leader essential for the whole story. If you really look at it- she doesn't do anything. Ever. And the final battle and reveal. How more anticlimactic and idiotic it could be?
There are millions of similar and completely unrelated and unnecessary things through out the whole series. They are irrelevant to the story, just thrown in as page fillers. They are boring and a touch annoying. Even more so in the final book.
This book was supposed to wrap up the whole series, give answers, reveal truths, have final epic battles and hopefully leave readers with satisfactory WOW. It does none of it. Author had run out of ideas and are just milking page count while having no actual story or putting in any real thought in it. I was barely able to pull myself through it in hopes to feel conclusion and it was not worth even a minute of my time.

I definitely don't recommend it. If you have read all previous books in this series, you can just read last few pages of this book and have all information this book contains. Without the pain of reading blabber in it. If you are just looking for inspiration to actually start these series, don't bother. They are not worth it.

It is also worth mentioning that with every consecutive book the writing becomes more childish and infantile. Even steamy parts are laughable and don't have any steam in them. I mean in the few sentences that are devoted to them.

If you need closure then this finale does it in spades. A little quick here and there, but it was oh-so satisfying to see characters come together to plot, swear and get their inhibitions out of the way before the world would probably come to an Abaddon-related end. Totally a Scream scenario here: a homage/parody of all those YA paranormal academy romances that aspired to be the next Harry Potter but done is such a way that's it's an amusing story all of it's own, one that doesn't fizzle out on drama or skimp on the silliness.

Characters are great as ever, everyone reaching their logical conclusion There are some touching moments too, especially with the faculty I'll miss the gang and their banter; Karolina's bluntness, Morgan's extraness, Tavi's realness, Teddy's... Teddiness.

A fun series comes to a fitting end. I hope its not the last we hear of the world of demons and guardians.

The final book in the explosive Hades Academy series!
As my final semester at Hades dawns, I have choices to make. But first, I have to survive.
Camilla's officially gone to the dark side—like that's a surprise—and Abaddon is gaining strength every day. There's a spy in Hades who can't be trusted—except we have no idea who it is. And my own battle over my feelings for Raines can't be ignored.
Things are heating up in every sense of the word, and if my life doesn't end when all this finishes, it'll definitely never be the same.

This is a wonderful addition and conclusion to this thrilling series!
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with that adds so much to the story.
Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to read more of these.
Recommend reading.

Exciting Conclusion!
“Hades Academy: Sixth Semester” is the conclusion of an intense storyline that began with “Hades Academy: First Semester”. Nova took us along on her journey of experiences at the academy as she fights the final battle against the evil of Abaddon and learns what she is made of. We watched the drama unfold, bullying, the twists, suspense, and the mysteries solved all while she learned the value of believing in herself, true friendship and love. This tale is an amazing ending to this series, one that I will be reading over and over again. Abbie Lyons gave us an epic fantasy adventure with main characters that you will love forever with hopefully more in the future! This entertaining enjoyable series is well worth the read!

A great conclusion full of mystery, danger, suspense, turns and twists with a touch of romance. Nova is not only stressing over the return of Abaddon but her future after leaving the academy as well. The threat of Abaddon is looming and plans to defeat him have been put on hold as they hunt for the Regents spy. Unfortunately, time has just run out and with no clear plan to stop him his victory is within sight. Nova and her crew will have to think fast if they hope to survive. This has been a very entertaining enjoyable series and I look forward to reading more from this author. You should definitely read this series you will not regret it.

Amazing and bittersweet at the same time. Amazing because this was an epic conclusion. Bittersweet because it's over. I loved this series so much that it is hard to say goodbye to Nova and Raines and the rest of the crew. In this final installment, Nova and company face off against their biggest foe yet, Abaddon. It was a great way to finish the series and I couldn't think of a better ending than this one. Abbie Lyons created such a fun world to explore with Hates Academy and I hope to read more from this world in the future. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The ending turned out to be very anti climatic. The last war was over before it started and left me feeling cheated of that epic battle. I also found the ending to be incomplete. The book ends with the demons graduation.

What happened to the people who sided with Abaddon?
What happened to the the sect Children of Abaddon?
Raines and Nova - what are they going to do?
What happened to Raines family?
What about the guardians who helped in the war, what happened?

This book started off well, but the ending was so so so disappointing, I can't even begin to express.

The much anticipated final installment in the Hades Academy was everything I wanted to find closure! Action-packed, thrilling, captivating, this final installment follows right after the previous books, all events leading to the final chapter of Nova's adventures and her upcoming battle with Abaddon. Who will prevail? And how?

I'm sad to see the series end. I hope that Abbie Lyons has plans for a spin-off.

So here’s the first thing you need to accept: This entire series - while delightful - used much of the framework of the Harry Potter series. And that’s OK! The characters were older, and there was more interpersonal drama than HP had, but at the end of the day it’s the same story. That said, I very much enjoyed my journey with these characters. It was a well-done coming of age story, with enough mystery to keep me guessing and enough clues so I could figure it out just before the answers were revealed.

What a series! Loved every minute of it. I couldn’t wait to read it but wanted to prolong it as it is the last book. Nova is back with her sass and her bad ass self ! The only bad thing about this book besides it’s the last one was I thought the battle was quick, it should of been longer and seemed too easy, but I still enjoyed it. I hope 🤞 wish there will be another book/series about these characters about how they go out into the real world

I loved this book it continues seamlessly from the previous book. It is well written and the characters and story are both well developed. I live seeing the character dynamics grow and evolve through the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had plenty suspense, emotion, intrigue, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and the series!!

My honest opinion

Honestly I thought the author could have ended this sooner, and if she does anymore then it will most likely ruin the series as nova and co have no one to fight now, and any further books will be basically then out in the real world creating terror, which will be boring and tedious.

Great ending to the series. Many predictable and unpredictable events throughout. Lots of wonderful characters and a few dastardly one.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Dude....

This was just.... not what it should have been. I have really loved wach of these books, until this one. It was oddly long winded in places, and kinda boring, and the showdown? Well, it was more of a burp, than a boom. What a terrible let down.

talk about a disappointing ending. book 4 and after went downhill. the longer the series went on, the more it seemed like just a rehash of harry potter. i don’t mind similarities, but this was wayyyy too much. there were 20 pages left to solve the big problem?? 😭 like what????
