Wow! What an incredible ending to this series. I laughed, I cried & I was pissed!! I actually had to put it down and walk away from it a couple times near the end because I was getting a little too wound up with what was happening. The loss of so many characters, amazing well written characters. Man, I have yet to read a book by Ryan and walk away disappointed. I’ve always enjoyed how he incorporates the brother bonds in his characters, we had 2 in this series. And the whole brotherhood as a community coming together to fight back for their lives, land and nation. And the level of violence….top notch! Very visual, made me squirm a lil. But I like books like that. And the ones on the receiving end deserved what they got anyways. The connection to Population zero was a nice touch as well. However, if you made it this far as a reader you already knew that. But it ties up a loose end, or should I say tosses up a loose end lol. Overall this book was fantastic! Sad to see it end, as I do will all the book series I read from Ryan. Looking forward to what he comes out with next. Enjoy.
Barthlomew Norwood and Catrick Swazis are the best characters ever. Wow! I really loved them! But, Ryan Schow, you had to break my heart. Wonderful series.
Well lots of damn moments in this book but well worth the read. Gave up some sleep and went from laughing to crying. That’s quality writing. Keep it up
I gave this one star because I couldn't give less. His political view are obvious. His humor is sophomric like , a 14 year old boy. His graphic violence is over the top and sick. I will never buy his books again. This is not what we need in this country, especially rich now.
I started out trying to stay with the series, but the further I got, the more references from the Radical Far Right started showing up and I couldn't handle the misinformation .
Throughout this series Ryan has made it clear how he feels about the condition of both politically and socially. I have often disagreed, and Ryan knows this and we have many discussions on our differences. I still enjoy reading his books and engaging in these discussions. The main thing that we agree on is that America is strong at its core and will survive. This series and, in particular, this book illustrates the epidemy of the American spirit and determination to remain free. There are some tragic losses but all post-apocalyptic/dystopian books are susceptible to this scenario. This book is also not for the faint of heart, but you wouldn’t have gotten this far in the series if you were. This is a great book to end a great series.
Please be careful I get carry away and might slip a spoiler or two in my writings or so I’ve been told.
Love all his books. To bad this ended the series. I gave it five because there was no room for more. Yes it was sad at times, and believed it or not it made this 70 year old man cry. I have no shame about it, I’m very sentimental and it took me there some times. I have learn to understand his style of writing, at the author being callous and at other time compassionate, silly ( Cathrick Swayse) tough as nails and humane. Great stuff. And in may opinion not a too far reality some some country in including ours. Anyway great stuff, good writing and congrats to this writer. I’m and old VietNam veteran so his writings hit close home.

This whole series was heartbreaking in so many ways. It feels like we are teetering on the edge of the same terrifying political climate that is truly in place now. I can easily see war breaking out here in America. Very scary.
I grew attached to all the characters in this story, the good and bad. It broke my heart when so many of them died. I love their faith in God and it definitely carried the scenes of the characters I couldn't believe died.
It was a very good story, very bloody, but if my world is invaded like theirs, I pray that I could survive and stand strong.like they do in this series. It makes me proud to be an American.
Once again, Ryan takes us back to the Tennessee holler where a band of patriotic survivors continue the fight for their country and a way of life they won’t surrender. The struggles are real and the sacrifices are great, but the heart is strong. America might bend but the people will never break! They show their enemies what happens when they try to take over a small town. Throughout this series Ryan shows us what it means to stand Proud and fight for Family, Honor, and Freedom!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books, although it's scary to think that this is probably going to happen soon. Mr. Schow has taken current events and weaved them into a very realistic story about the future of our country. The moral fabric of our country has been destroyed by our peoples tolerance of the "Woke" ideology and the greed of our political leaders of BOTH parties. The scenario of these books probably will happen, but I'm afraid that the results will be a lot worse than depicted in these books. Wake up America!
Sunset on America series was an excellent and thought provoking read
Loved this series. Read all 6 books back to back!! I was very invested in characters and enjoyed the oddness of Bart the fart! I will check out his other series after a break...the violence is a bit much for me but the thing that struck me is similarities to our current political structure...could this happen? I suppose if we don't tend to our moral compass and beliefs, it could. Anyway, if you like post apocalyptic sagas this is way above average!!
I just finished the 6 book series. I have to say the theme was one the closely resembles other apocalyptic series that I've read. However Schow does an excellent job of character development. Few books Ive read tied me personally to a character as well as this series. The loss of every character hurt like a friend. The last chapters were especially tough to read because you knew there were going to be losses of your favorite characters, human and non-human. The plot twists and visuals building were great as well. Ryan thank you looking forward to reading your net series!
When I started the first book I almost quit the series, did not like the characters. Found them obnoxious and self absorbed to the point of ruining the story. Soldiered on ,by the middle of the book the characters came to life ,redeeming themselves, often in humor. The stories were excellent funny scary and heart warming. This last book was hard to read because of tears, such heart breaking pages. Thanks for such great books!
I read the whole series!!! Couldn't put them down, but now I'm super paranoid! It's such a believable story that it scares me. I'm questioning many things and doing research because I'm unsure what to believe. With today's news, the whole story seems very plausible and I'll most likely become a prepper. Something my husband will frown upon because "it's only a story".
Anywho, I'm looking for more of Ryan's books and will probably get even less sleep. Oh well.
All l c,an ay is WOW!!,this is the first time reading this author books, and it won't be my last.l love the characters, it was exciting ,scary ,sad and funny to some extend.l pray we never have this happen, but with the way the world is heading It could and l pray that my community comes together like they did ,this is one hell of a good series if you haven't read you need to pick it up .l promise you won't be sorry !!!!
I’ve read numerous apocalyptic novels and series but this was the most realistic and so the most scary of any of them. The characters were well developed and the pace kept me interested through all 6 books. The only reason for a 4 instead of 5 was that the violence seemed too over the top at times. I finally ended up closing my eyes and fast forwarding when it got too bloody. Otherwise a thought provoking read from start to finish.
As with all of Ryan's stories I loved the entire Sunset on America series; book 6 is no exception. I was deeply invested in the characters. It was a brutal struggle to survive and it was easy to put myself in their shoes to feel the anger and frustration that they felt when losing their beloved nation. I hope this never happens but you never know!
This fearless book tells the truth about America's fate
Sadly, we are no more than a generation from a similar occurrence. If what our kids are learning from kindergarten to college, we will be in the same place. Excellent story, well developed characters, and my favorite thing's good editing.
This series. .it gets you to fall in love with the people. .then breaks your heart... Not like other story where everyone lives and lives happy ever after..true life I cried for everyone. But that's how it would be in live. Great book... Makes you think about our countries falling apart!
This story is telling, if you're paying attention to our world today it is glaring in the very real possibility of it happening. The fear is real. The story is very well written and hard to put down. I rarely review the hundreds of books I read. This one required I say something. Please let us see the reality and stop the evil before its too late.
Outstanding series! There is action, humor, sadness, which makes this a hard book to put down because you want to see what happens to these characters who seem so real.
I have read a lot of post apocalypse books and series. Sunset on America is by far my favorite. I love the humor and laughed a lot. How you dreamed up the ATF agent and his cat were genius. I have enjoyed all of Ryan Show's books. Keep Writing.
I enjoyed the story immensely, minus some useless losses due to bad choices or planning. It’s reality, not everyone makes it. The personalities and humor amongst such mayhem, was well injected. I caught myself laughing out loud often.
I love this authors books! I’m so invested in the characters, I cried and laughed with them. It just goes to show you that sometimes blood has to be spilled for freedom to be kept, Bravo on another wonderful series!
This series is definitely a page turner. Your emotions will run the full gambit from happy to sad, fearful to angry, defeated to triumphant and everything in between. Keep your tissues and drinks close by while reading.
A Series To Make You Think! It took me on a roller-coaster ride. I fell in love with the characters, hated what was happening and all the humans that caused it and yes I cried.
This 6-book series is really fantastic. It is well-written, no typos, great characters and so much more. If you worry about the shape of our country in real life you must read this series. Then decide what you need to do.
This is the most realistic apocalypse Book I've ever read. It scares me to think Of the future we are headed for with the way this world is right now. We need more love and less of all this hate. I hope we as Americans Are as strong as you portray us.
This series makes me think how close we are to an apocalypse. Makes me think of all the damage one president can do to one Country and to the world in only three and a half years. I wonder how close we now are to the downfall of this great nation.
