The Archemi Online Chronicles #6

Crowned in Black: A LitRPG Dragonrider Adventure

Rate this book
Ignas Corvinus, ruler of Vlachia, has been captured by his worst enemies. A puppet ruler has been installed to lead the most powerful nation in Archemi, and he's doing his best to blame Hector Park, his dragon Karalti, and their allies for the world's problems.

Hector has only two words for they start with F and end with 'you'.

In the ongoing war between Archemi and the forces of the Void, the battle for the soul and throne of Vlachia is crucial. With one powerful nation recently conquered and the other being corrupted from within, the world's fate hinges on Hector leading his adopted homeland back from the brink - and perhaps playing a greater role in its future than he ever believed possible.

Join Hector and Karalti on this epic Final Fantasy-style LitRPG adventure, in which the heroes find love, triumph, and struggle against overwhelming odds in the battle to save their world. May contain creative swearing, military humor, and excessive dragons.

SBT And Baldwin Strikes Again!

Wow! The drama and emotion the music brings to this story is phenomenal and this was well worth the wait!

The story intensifies and new depth to what's really going on is brought to the fore front. The shape of the true threat takes shape. Pity for some enemies, and new levels of loathing for others. And for us techies, how this was even possible inside of Archemi at is given voice.

Quest completed and new quest discovered. Not once have I left any of the Archemi books feeling like I was cliff-hanger'd but I'm always excited for the next installment and Crowned in Black does it again and even better!

Here's to book 7!

Meh

The last book left me with a serious case of the ick. That Hector slept with Karalti, whom he has raised, in a very short space of time, from a hatchling, has serious incest/peado vibes and it's taken me a while to decide to read this one. The story is interesting in a weird kind of way, and it can be funny in places, but it's so very long-winded that I can help but just skip pages of battles and fights. I find they all blur together. Still not loving the whole Dad/Rider/lover angle. The fact that he still calls her tidbit is absolutely gross.

Good plot progression in this series entry. It's nice to see actual solution of early plot problems alongside the addition of new, bigger problems. Character development is proceeding at a pace that works well with the plot. We don't see much in the way of new information about the world in this volume.

The sound effects in the audio version of the book are obtrusive enough to make it difficult or impossible to understand the words being spoken, but that happens in only a few places.

Overall, solid work and a very fun read.

Another cool adventure

I really love this series. It's so distinctive that I always remember where I am in the story. I love the Eastern European, West Asian, Steppe influence to the story. The politics are fascinating when paired with the game system. I continue to love the characters. Karalti and Hector are and interesting dynamic I'm still examining, I will admit. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Great read

I liked the way the author tied up loose ends and left room for another book. I do like the fight scenes that played out. One of the major dungeons runs was a bit underwhelming. Also would have love a bit of skill grinding. Overall a great read looking forward to the next book.

Worthwhile wait

Excellent return to the Archemi world as we revisit old favourites and see a surprisingly turn of events as our heroes level up and the wheels of war turn. Some great battle scenes and love how the relationships come straight to the forefront after so long away and grab your attention.

the best one yet!

It was an absolute pleasure to read. I could not put it down, and when I had to, all I could think about was getting back to it. I eagerly await the audible version as well as the next book.

This has been a high point in the series. So many bombs were dropped and the plot progressed tremendously. No real relationship drama too! The only thing this book was missing was a cat opera.
