Commander Ellen Ryu, Lieutenant Kael Sidassian, and the crew of the starship Audacity barely escaped Capital with their lives. Then betrayal kicked down their door. Now they need to clean up the mess. The one team member they thought was safe has disappeared-their benefactor Doug Simmons. Doug's former classmate is also in danger, and he'd planned a mission for them to rescue her. And the crew is zeroing in on just what exactly Ellen's nemesis Dr. Arakovic is planning as the clues sharpen into focus. Will the team be able to put together the pieces of many different puzzles before it's too late? Attacked on multiple fronts, Ellen and her crew will have to divide and conquer if they want to triumph. Because cyborg super soldiers, awkward aliens, gang members with secrets, and an ex-girlfriend from the past are just a few of the problems on their plate. The baby they've been hiding from the entire galaxy is also about to make herself known. Loudly. A epic adventure awaits in a galaxy where science has gone wrong and hope is all some people have left. Character-driven space opera with a mix of humor, action, and romance, CHILD OF WRATH is the third book in the Audacity Saga.

I don't know why it took me so long to read Child of Wrath. I think I was worried that bad things were going to happen. Bad things do happen, but so do good things; some of the good is due to the bad. The world building is excellent, the characters are awesome, some side characters become loved main characters, Rich is hilarious, and the story is riveting. Due to the length of this book, I thought it would be the last book in the series, but I was wrong. I look forward to the further adventures of the Audacity's crew. I read Child on KU, but I will buy it to reread as soon as I can.
Good story and the series is progressing well, too. I thought perhaps some of the battle scenes were more drawn out than necessary, maybe being a little distracting because of that. A few typos or grammar problems, but hardly noticeable. I can't wait (although I will wait) for the next episode.
I forgot to mention that there was another tedious aspect in the telling of this story. The team had split into two sub-teams in order to accomplish two goals simultaneously, however, jumping back and forth between these two stories was not so fun. So I think telling these stories in their entirety, and then merging the two stories when the sub-teams rejoin might have worked better.
I am enjoying the series so far. It has great characters, but a lot of the characters are very underdeveloped. Characters just get thrown in and it seems to take a long time to learn anything about them. Theres been a lot of missed opportunities and relevant moments where characters could have been expanded on. I will definitely continue reading and love the authors ideas and descriptions, but I am hoping to see more depth to the Cree.
I love this series! It makes me want to be part of the crew of the Audacity. This is book three and it was worth the wait! I love Ellen and Kael. I can not wait until the next one comes out!!!
A much longer book than the first two, this one has a bit more excitement especially toward the end as Ellen, Karl and some of the crew travel to Farms to get answers. Others go to Tetra to find Doug who had mysteriously gone silent.
