Chauncy was supposed to save the world from The Dark One six months ago, but after putting it off for a bit, he sort of...um, forgot all about it. Which is a problem, because now the ultimate evil is rising to destroy the world!
Having saved magic from a hostile takeover by the Evermore Trading Company, Chauncy settles down in his hometown of Southwick, ready to build a life with his crazy girlfriend. That is, until destiny comes a-knockin' on his front door again. For The Dark One is rising to destroy the world - for real this time - and if Chauncy doesn't do something about it, everything and everyone he cares about is going to die! Now Chauncy is forced on an adventure he really doesn't want to go on, to try to defeat an evil that's very likely going to kill him. For, in not wanting to fulfill this particular destiny, Chauncy has lost the ability to feel magic. And if he doesn't figure out some way to regain his powers, he's doomed to fail...and the world will be plunged into eternal darkness! Get your eager hands (and eyeballs) on the second book in this (ridiculously inappropriate) fantasy comedy now! This book is for grown-ups who never grew up! It contains (ridiculously) inappropriate depictions of (ridiculously) inappropriate people doing (ridiculously) inappropriate things. Including, but certainly not limited to, inappropriate language and veiled connotations of the naughty variety. And of course, (ridiculously) inappropriate magic.
Clayton Wood is the author of six fantasy series. He's been a computer programmer, graphics designer, martial-arts instructor, and now works in the medical field.
Writing was always Clayton's passion, but it wasn't until the birth of his first son that he found the inspiration necessary to finish his first book. Five years later, he published Runic Awakening, the first entry in the Runic Series. With eleven books published, he doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon!
I have enjoyed these books very much, but more than anything, I appreciate the reminder that play is important, joy is life, and living in the now is what makes life meaningful.
I loved this book, it was just as ridiculous at the title promised. Some parts had me laughing out loud. Let's hope there is a follow-up, fingers crossed.
I made it about 40% before I had to DNF. The concept was interesting, it was unique, and I liked the message, but I just got tired of all the dirty jokes. I also hate Valtora lol I'm sorry I couldn't get through it because I did want to know what happens, but I just felt myself losing interest, and with that, momentum.
I was a bad reader and didn’t review the first book. Naughty. Perhaps the lark both these books have taken me on caused it. Something fun, a bit different than my usual. Magic might make it back into their world , it’s needed.
Second in series. Didn’t really advance the story from the first book. Found myself rolling my eyes at some of the more repetitive basic humour but then laughing at more nuanced parts. I’m still invested in the characters so will give book 3 a chance.
I could not finish this one. I made it halfway through the book bestie I couldn’t take the excessive innuendos. This book seriously felt more like there was more sexual innuendos and less actual story. I wish there was more actual story.
