I found the premise stronger than the content: punching back at the impossibly impenetrable New Yorker submissions department is a relatable and admirable quest. Sadly, I too found these cartoons to be just okay. I grew up loving the Far Side, and at his best Owens totally channels its irreverence, weirdness, and wit into the present moment. However, I can only say that about a handful of the cartoons, and on the whole I found myself groaning more than not. Which I know is sort of the point. But still.

Great for a super quick read. Clever comics, reminiscent of early Far Side.
