When Mary Vine kissed a handsome stranger at the Fenwick Masquerade, she never imagined the extraordinary attraction could be for the most disgraceful rake in London. A man she knew far too well…
A steamy regency romance short story!
This story was previously published in the Fool for Love Anthology.

Super quick short story. I normally do not enjoy such short stories, but this one kept my interest the whole way thru. The only thing that I did not like was Mary's bitchy attitude once they took their masks off (how she was blaming him for everything). It seemed a little overkill in the bitch department.
At 20, Mary Vine is still looking for a husband. Douglas, her brother, isn't helping at all - and nor is Ellis Worth, his best friend. So Mary goes to a masquerade ball, meets, and nearly seduces a gentleman - who (wow!!) turns out to be Ellis... Huge OOOps :) :) :) Silly, nice!
A Husband For Mary is a fantastic historical romance by Heather Boyd. This book is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Mary is in a snit because her brother and his friend Ellis won't take her to a masquerade, so she sneaks off without anyone knowing. Mary and Ellis are both drawn together at first sight during the party. But what will happen when they unmask and she discovers Ellis, a rake and her brother's friend? Ellis and Mary's story is fast-paced and loaded with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed reading A Husband For Mary and look forward to my next book by Heather Boyd.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Trouble with bad mouthing someone...! Mary and Ellis had to sort out all the bad things being spoken about Ellis' life before they could find their Hapoy Ever After. There was a scene at a Masquerade Ball which most definitely had me holding my breath. What a moment that was! I really liked these two main characters and have certainly enjoyed their antics.
This novella is packed with as much emotion as a full length romance. Sparks fly between this couple from the beginning of the book and their subsequent meeting and the combustion that ensued is understandable and an enjoyable scene.
A delightful steamy Regency read about Mary and her brother's best friend, Ellis. This is based on an enemies to lovers trope with hidden identities at a masquerade ball. A very enjoyable short story about misconceptions and hidden feelings. A great read.
