This is an absolutely precious book. The tone of the sweet rhymes is gentle and loving. The illustrations are beautifully done painting a lovely picture of love (though bears are the characters, it is likewise true of people) of a parent for their little one.
As the pages turn, shaped die cuts reveal words that are meaningful to that page and the next, and sometimes the next. A charming way to capture the idea. A heart cut-out highlights "love."
This sweet book shows love in a special way and is a perfect addition to a little one's shelf of favorite books.
I highly recommend this book from the folks at Silver Dolphin Books. They do such a good job of publishing children's books and this is an excellent example of their quality work.

4.5 stars. I LOVE the illustrations in this book, and I’ve cried many times reading if to my sweet boys. The reason for the lost star is simply because the writing isn’t as refined as it could be. Would still highly recommend.

If you are looking for a book to read to your child for Valentine’s Day, then this is it. This book shares the deep love a parent has for a child. It doesn’t specify if the adult bear is a mom or dad or grandparent or aunt or uncle. This really could be read by anyone who loves a child deeply. It also could be read by adoptive or foster parents.
This bear shares the deep love it has for the little bear through beautiful rhyming prose. The pages are full of color and are just gorgeous. Nearly every page has a shaped cutout, like a heart, a flower, or a leaf, featuring a word on the next page.
“I saw your sweet smile and I knew from the start, I’d love you forever with all of my heart.”
This opening line of the story just warmed my heart. Even though I have kids in college, I got teary reading this one because at the end it says:
“Wherever you are, even when we’re apart…I’ll love you forever with all of my heart. “
I think this would be a great book for parents who travel for work or who may be in the military. This would be a perfect book to record reading aloud so the child can “read” it while the parent is gone. It’s a beautiful bedtime or anytime story and the illustration of the bears are just adorable, especially when they are cuddling. I also love all the cute little forest animals that appear on the pages. You could definitely make that part of the reading fun, asking your child to find the fox or the owls or the dragonfly or the mice.
I can’t recommend this sweet book enough. It would make a lovely baby shower gift, first birthday gift, or a gift for expecting parents or grandparents.

The die-cuts also vary between heart shapes, flowers, clouds, leaves, and stars. The openings highlight shooting stars, the pitter-patter of rain, the shining moon, and lovely falling leaves.
The writing is soothing, with short sentences and calm words, making this a perfect bed-time book. The illustrations are soft with a watercolor style. The pastel colors are creamy with spongy edges. Through the story, Momma Bear and her cub watch the moon, hide from the rain, splash in the river, climb trees, and jump in fallen leaves.
I'm so impressed with this beautiful book! It perfectly expresses that unique type of love for a child that is dear to you.

A bear and a cub are enjoying the landscape. As time passes the adult bear is expressing love as the bear cub grows and soon is on his own. Parents and caregivers can share this soothing rythmic poem with young listeners. They can discuss what love is and in what ways a parent can show a child how much they love them. Short sentences and delightful illustrations make this a perfect read for beginners.

This was such a cute story, perfect for parents or other family members to read to a little one! I am very very tempted to get this one for my niece. I loved the little cut outs on the pages as well. Everything about this one was adorable!

This book celebrates the love a parent has for her child and features die cut-out shapes that frame words that are repeated on the next page. The sentiments are sweet, but the book isn't all that memorable.

Trying this again with an older toddler...

Beautiful illustrations, but this is another example of a children's book designed for adults. The text is frequently the focal point on the page, making it difficult to keep kids interested from page to page. No new images between a few pages where the cut outs highlight different things also were just pages we had to quickly turn to keep our child interested for as long as possible.
