Abnormal Beginnings Book 1 Mike L. Junior
The Apocalypse has come and gone. 99% of the world's population has died. The survivors regroup in Georgia but as the years become decades, the people become less united by tragedy and more divided by self-interests. Those who remain succeed into 5 new nations. That 1% soon begins to expand with time; it also evolves. Their ancestors who survived the Apocalypse only did so because of their mutated genes and those genes only multiplied with each generation, until today's descendants begin showing signs of abnormalities. These abnormalities give people ungodly abilities, abilities that are discriminated by the masses, so much so that Abnormals have to form guilds to have a sense of family.
In Abnormal Book 1 , we join Cole as his guild has been stripped from him, and he has been left for dead. Who is the culprit of such a heinous crime? His brother. Join Cole on his epic journey of vengeance as he crosses a wasteland of a planet to get revenge from the man he trusted most. What lies ahead? Will Cole get his revenge? Can he get back what he lost? Is his journey as simple as it seems? Find out in Abnormal Beginnings .
About the Author
Mike L. Junior has always wanted to be a writer, but it seemed like a daunting task. He wasn't sure he would be a talented writer or storyteller until his senior year of high school, during which his class was asked to make senior memoirs in which they were to recall stories from every year of their school journeys up until that point. Anyone who knows him knows his memory isn't the best, so he found himself making up stories for the assignment and not only was his teacher pleased, but he found himself having a great time weaving a fable together. Now that he knew he had an interest, he still wasn't sure he could do it as up until that point the most he wrote was about 20-30 pages for the assignment he was given over a month to complete. He was nervous but all the comics, anime, and superhero cartoons he'd watched over the years had him bubbling with ideas for stories.
WatchDogs is one of the first incomplete ideas Mike had about a decade ago. After a little inspiration from a friend to pursue his dreams and a bit of early approval from his parents, who at that point had never read anything he'd written, he was ready to follow his dreams. He did outline after outline and the story changed drastically, and after a while he realized he was just procrastinating, so from there he took the leap, and while he had to write inbetween his everyday work he managed to finish his first book and he is so proud of the result.

Mike L Junior is the author of the sci-fi novel WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings. It has an action-packed plot that is enthralling and fascinating.

The book begins with a scenario of a chaotic chase as a team of Abnormal Hunters pursues the main protagonists. They were being followed because Kaarina and Monty were Abnormals. Fortunately, they escaped their assailants and took refuge in a vacant home. After telling Monty about the origins of the Earth, how Abnormals came to be in existence, and the purpose of the Abnormal Hunters, a stranger knocked on the door. He had already fainted before Kaarina could get the door open. Except for a country called Xenora, none of the five countries were safe for the Abnormals. Their objective was then to get there safely so they could escape the claws of their assailants. The fact that the stranger at the door knew how to get there and offered to assist them worked to their benefit. How does he affect Kaarina and Monty's lives? Did they manage to reach Xenora safely?

It was interesting to read about the characters. Each character was unique in terms of their backstory and traits. It was fascinating to read about how these Abnormals, despite their differences, nevertheless worked together to accomplish objectives in order to survive. The novel was well-written and amusing. I was intrigued by the exploits described in the book since the storyline seamlessly transitioned into the post-apocalyptic genre. The story featured a good deal of fantasy, uncertainty, and a unique mix of interesting, colorful possibilities to follow. The dialogue between the characters didn't appear forced or dull, demonstrating the author's excellent writing style. Because of the author's outstanding descriptive skills, I had no trouble visualizing the events and activities described. The background stories for the characters were substantial, and they were clearly explained. I was drawn to the novel and experienced a range of emotions while reading it.

I did observe some troubling aspects, though. The book was not professionally edited. Many grammatical and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces between words, were present throughout the book. The opening scene of the book was another thing that bothered me. It was difficult for me to understand the foreign dialect of the hunters pursuing Kaarina and Monty. I'll rate this book three out of four stars for the above reasons.

I recommend this book to voracious readers who enjoy stories about adventures, thrillers, and science fiction. This novel would appeal to readers not offended by books with a few sensual scenes. Due to the frequent use of profanity and the presence of X-rated content, this book won't be appropriate for teenagers.

WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings by Mike L Junior is a science fiction story. It tells us about Drake Nathan's cybernetic chip, which alters a human's DNA, healing various ailments, including cancer and blindness. Over time babies are born with the altered DNA without the need for a chip. This is the start of the demise of Earth as we know it. Technology comes to be so developed and sophisticated that ordinary people need to learn how to use it. This is the Technology Era which soon dies, and then the Apocalypse Era begins, and civilization as we know it dies. Ordinary couples start giving birth to babies with strange skills. These newborns are known as Abnormals. The Abnormals are segregated and hunted like animals. Kaarina and Monty are two orphaned Abnormals making their way to Xenora to enroll in the Berserkers Guild. Here they hope to find understanding and a feeling of family. Kaarina and Monty are being hunted. Will they ever get to Xenora? What are Kaarina's and Monty's special powers? What is the Berserkers Guild?

Mike L Junior has used great descriptions to give the reader a feel of the different scenarios. Much thought and careful planning have gone into the storyline, and Junior skillfully builds the layers of each character until we know them like a friend. The chemistry and interaction between the different characters are captivating.

Despite the good points, there were a lot more things that I did not like about WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings. Every chapter finishes with xyz in lowercase, but there needs to be an explanation as to why this is. For example page one hundred and fifteen, "The group happy to finally get a chance to eat decent food began to kick it into high gear, leaving the Snowy Mountains behind. xyz". The missions are named after the alphabet, for example, A-class, C-class, and S-Class. I got confused about what they all were and what their point was. I think there needs to be more information given so that readers can understand how they differ from one another. I was disappointed that despite all the thought which has gone into this book, there are areas where there has been no thought at all, which let the book down. One sentence is beautifully descriptive but is spoilt by adding the words "bag full of stuff" for example, on page seven, "The night sky filled with flakes of snow off the hills of a brown snow boot worn by a youthful Middle-Eastern scarlet-haired female running through a forest carrying a bag full of stuff." Furthermore, the lack of editing spoilt my enjoyment of the book, there are grammar and spelling errors on most pages, and this spoils the flow of the story!

I would be delighted to recommend WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings by Mike L Junior once it has been revised, but in its current state, I would not be happy to recommend it. However, if you enjoy post-apocalyptic, science-fiction, action, and adventure stories and you are not a person who is irritated by grammar and spelling errors, then you would enjoy this book. There are a lot of strong swear words and some sexual passages that are very descriptive and leave nothing to the imagination, so I recommend that only open-minded adults read it. Also, if you are religious, you may not appreciate parts of the book which question whether there is a God.

WatchDogs Abnormal Beginnings by Mike L Junior could have been an outstanding read. The idea and planning that have gone into it are fantastic, but the execution and lack of editing badly let the book down. Unfortunately, as the book is at the moment, I can only give 2 out of 5 stars. This book needs editing and proofreading by a professional to deserve more stars!

I would like to thank Michael L. Junior for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for my impartial review. You can read more of my reviews https://onlinebookclub.org/reviews/by...

Watchdogs: Abnormal Beginnings by Mike L. Junior is a fascinating journey of a man who seeks revenge of a betrayal beyond comprehension from his closest relation. The world as it is known have come and gone, the Apocalypse has destroyed everything. All the survivors regroup and build 5 new nations which flourishes with time but things start to change when few among them start to show abnormalities showcasing powerful abilities which are not accepted by everyone. Thus, sparking the Abnormals to build guilds to have the security of oneness among themselves. Unfortunately for Cole as he is crushed by his closest kin, the story artfully evolves with elements of trust and revenge.

The author has brought forth creativity with unique blend of different scenarios. The storyline is designed skilfully which expresses destruction and progression. Cole's chemistry with different characters is captivating. The descriptive narration had me completely immersed till the end and I will surely recommend it to anyone who likes action and adventures.

“WatchDogs: Abnormal Beginnings” is an amazing and interesting apocalyptic story. The world building, action sequences and storyline, all coalesce smoothly up into a greatly and well executed narrative which I enjoyed from the very first page.
If I had to mention any criticism it would be that the characters are too realistic and over mentioned. I could delve briefly into their lives for a few pages, but Mike L. Junior has given them more depth than most writers would embed in the hero of a series. Anyway, this is just my humble opinion.
Something I loved about this book is that it dangled so many possibilities for the future that I felt anxious, in the best possible way, for the next installment. I just hope the author knows how desperately I need my next fix of this story so I can get the next one quicker.

What could be worse than living through the apocalypse? Perhaps finding out those closest to you are untrustworthy… in Watchdogs: Abnormal Beginnings by author Mike L. Junior, we join Cole on his epic adventure in a post-apocalyptic and terrifying world as he grapples with personal problems as well as the basics of survival.
Well written and engaging the novel is a swift but entertaining read. The post-apocalyptic genre of writing can at times be a bit repetitive or stereotypical, but I was happily surprised to discover this book was not like that. The language is well suited and appropriate without seeming forced or contrived.
Overall a fun read, Watchdogs: Abnormal Beginnings is an exciting adventure and leaves one interested to see what is next in store for the characters and series.

An amazing fiction

“WatchDogs” is a fiction that intrigued me from the summary to the very last word. Mike L. Junior is the writer of the book. I was surprised when I found out that Junior is a first-time writer, because he sounded experienced to me.

The story is promising and, although it is a fiction, it is believable! From the moment I read the summary I was motivated. I cannot say I devoured the reader, because I found it long and I had to stop and go back many times in order to remember where I left. Nonetheless, I find the book entertaining and I cannot wait for the following books of the series to come! I recommend this reader and I really hope future books of the series do not disappoint me.

This book from author Mike
L. Junior is the beginning of the series
Abnormal Beginnings. With a concept of the apocalypse different from the one we know or we are used to reading about in epic stories, this fiction adventure and suspense novel has captivated me.
I read it following the recommendation of a close friend and he wasn’t mistaken. I loved it. It is very original and it is excellently written. The way in which it is narrated is very interesting and the characters are believable and well-constructed.
The story develops in a complicated present with survivors of a devastating apocalyptic time. The plot becomes electrifying when this small number of people discover the reason why they were spared from the catastrophic events.

"Watchdogs: Abnormal Beginnings book 1" is a really entertaining and well-structured novel. The narration flows easily with this post-apocalyptic genre leaving the readers very captivating with the adventures the main character goes through.

Author, Mike L. Junior, managed to create a compelling novel about an uncertain future that can sometimes be a little overwhelming. But I think this novel has the right amount of fantasy, uncertainty and very colorful scenarios to follow along.

To sum up, I think this adventurous fiction will fit those readers into futuristic topics and stories. But every casual reader will have a good time reading this novel. Personally, I enjoyed very much the survival mode the main character must follow in order to survive.

If I could give negative stars I would. Please do not read this book, it is not professionally edited. If you still have the urge just go to my highlights and read some of those first. Let me just show you the opening sentence of this book...

The night sky filled with flakes of snow off the hills of a brown snow boot worn by a youthful Middle-Eastern scarlet-haired female running through a forest carrying a bag full of stuff.

Mike L Junior really had a great idea for this book and that's what intrigued me the most but please Mike.. pay someone to edit and revise this book.

Interesting Read

Was a good book overall, great character building and plot, but the dialogue was a bit dry and repetitive.

The main character is loveable, all in all
Not too bad.
