When Oxford University student Bella Anderson is wrongfully arrested in Amsterdam, she flees into the arms of her new lover to a secret hideaway in England. In hiding, Mr 303 becomes her protector… but can he save her from what is coming?
The world is suddenly hit by a super-flu, which the press has dubbed, "Super-Cyto," that quickly begins to devastate the global population. Rumors begin to spread that over 90% of the planet have died from the outbreak. In order to survive the deadly wave, Bella finds herself in the Australian Outback, hiding from an unseen enemy, and entrusting her and her family’s lives with Mr 303.
While the world around them crumbles and falls apart, a newer tormented one is born.
While rain trickled down my windows during my childhood, I curled up on a cushioned sofa with a hot drink, a new adventure and I waited impatiently to grow up.
Several years later, I'm still waiting to grow up. In the meantime, grab a drink and jump on board and come on a journey with me. I promise you it will be different.
The ride might be the sordid or gritty story of a North London prostitute, or it might be the dystopian/apocalyptic terrorism fighting hero.
I've also started writing as Adam Norty, so don't be confused by the alias. Fans of A Boy Called Q will enjoy the Adam Norty smut side of things.
I couldn't put this book down and I'm looking forward to part two.
From the beginning, you know that a virus is starting to spread (and also because the bio told me!).
When the main characters, Bella and Mr 303 - aka Peter, meet and fall in love in Oxford University in England, she heads off on a quick trip to Amsterdam with some friends. What happens there is a strange but interesting experience in which Bella is arrested for something she isn't guilty of doing. Naturally, Mr 303 comes to the rescue and whisks her back to England, to a little cottage.
Meanwhile, Adam, a scientist who is working on the cure, starts to see panic around him as the virus begins to spread and he is soon convinced by his parents to move his family away to the countryside in Australia.
Other notable characters are Chris, who doesn't speak any Italian and finds himself stranded in Italy with only Lina for company, a woman who is an amazing cook, loves her wine, a fellow chain-smoker but doesn't speak a word of English. Loved this scenario, very good!
A beautifully written story-line between Kayla and Herbie, in which a love is rekindled and almost lost again.
When Bella and Mr 303 fly to Australia, they discover that the virus is becoming quite serious and after a brief stop with her family, suddenly find themselves out in the wild.
This story is part one of two books according to the author and is a well-told story that is building up to what I hope will be a great outcome in book two. it is clear that book one is setting up for some very complex apocalyptic scenarios.
I thought the virus technicals were believable and the characters very likable. This is definitely not a fast paced book that will please those who want action. The relationships and the building of a world that is quickly changing are what I think this book is mostly about.
Definitely a recommended read if you like romance and apocalyptic books.
Another great book by this new author Fox Emerson.
Having read Monique, which is a graphic and gritty story about a prostitute, I was expecting something of the same by Fox Emerson. It's nothing like it.
Mr 303 is a love story and a post apocalyptic tale about a university college student called Bella and Mr 303 (Peter).
There's some very good dialogue and the characters were believable. I found myself so drawn into the story that I read it within a few days. The only disappointment was that I have to wait for part two before finding out what happens next.
Fox Emerson has managed to cross genres successfully, in my opinion and is without a doubt, one of the most effective story-tellers today. Excellent job, highly recommended.
This is a good romance set in an apocalyptic world, which is what I think people who were expecting an apocalyptic book didn't want. You only need to read the bio to know that Bella's relationship with Mr. 303 is the main focus of the story. Bella's life is turned upside down when the virus hits just as she's formulating a relationship with Mr. 303. I get the sense that the author is setting up the sequel to make Mr. 303 much more prominent and heroic. You get a few small clues throughout this part 1 and you see how much he takes charge towards the end. There's a little bit of action, but mostly it's building up to something big. An excellent book if you like romance and apocalyptic books all in one.
