Superb cover and the content was fully convincing. The author traces the history of cinematic vampires from Nosferatu to present day ghouls: the silent vampire (Theda Bara in A Fool There Was, Nosferatu), talkie vampires (Bela Lugosi and countless imitations), the English vampire (from Hammer studios with sexy girls), the Italian vampire (e.g. Hannah Queen of the Vampires), new vampires, cowboys, spacemen and Nazi beasts, the saga of the Draculas (great chapter), the best vampire movie posters ever, Batmen from the Bronx, art and commerce, lust, blood and God (who doesn't like busty vampires?). An amazing amount of excellent movie stills and photo material is waiting on you. This is some definite vampire non-fiction. Highly recommended!
Simply had to pick this one up because of its cover art. I wasn't disappointed, on the contrary! The author traces the history of cinemastic vampires from the beginning to the end of the 1970s: silent vampires, talkie vampires, the English vampire, the Italian vampire, vampires from Mexico and the Philipines, the Spanish vampire, sex vampires (LOL Vampyros Lesbos), new vampires, cowboys, spacement and Nazi beasts, the saga of dracula, great movie posters (in colour!), Batmen from the box, art and commerce, lust, blood and God... so many brilliant black and white movie stills. In my opinion the definite book on the genre. The author did a superb job. Highly recommended!
