Eloise is one busy little girl. She is always on the go, and getting into the biggest messes she can get into along the way. Kind of reminds me of my own kids. I will always recommend Eloise novels, for all children love a little chaos now and then.
I enjoy reading about this mischievous little girl; however, this short-story and most stories like these tend to be for small children instead of the slightly older. I love the fact that no matter what situation Eloise finds herself in, she always tends to rain herself back in before she winds up in trouble.
She might not be the best role model, but she is the average little girl.
First off I loved the illustrations - very animated, colourful and fun to look at. Eloise lives on the top floor of the Plaza Hotel and seems to have the run of the place. Eloise loves the Lost and Found room where she gets to dress up and pretend she's different characters and basically has a ball in it. I'm all for children speaking their minds - but Eloise just pushes those boundaries for me. I really don't enjoy books where the child acts like a spoilt pretentious brat.
Little girl adventures. I rather doubt that my SMART reader gets the overall context of a privileged little girl living in the Plaza Hotel, but the dress-up closet (lost and found) seemed fun.
This easy reader series is based on the picture books starring Eloise by Hilary Knight. These are original stories using Thompson’s art. This story was cute as when Eloise is lost the hotel staff find her in the Lost and Found room playing with the various objects. Creative use of items in a lost and found. Unique.
I died a little inside. This is not Eloise. And she isn’t drawn right. This is Eloise for babies. This is Eloise for Fox “News” viewers. This is fake Eloise.
That was my 10-31-2018 review above. I read this again tonight, 8-26-2021 and enjoyed it much more. Am changing my rating from one to 3 stars. It isn’t the original Eloise and is for younger readers, but her playfulness and imagination is still there.
