"We share this earth with things most cannot see. Others choose not to see. Some don't get that freedom."

In a romance story, it is very important for the reader to be able to connect with the main characters, so it’s not a surprise that one reason I liked “Girl Unseen” so much was because I loved the hero and the heroine. Pia had a strong yet kind personality, because of her gift she has been facing rejection and cruelty since childhood, but she still chose to help other people. Nate was the perfect match for her, I loved how protective and possessive he was, Pia spent a life full of loneliness until she met Nate, the only one besides her paranormal team who was able to accept her and her abilities.
-“Do you know the price of being with someone like me?”
-“Whatever the cost, I’ll pay.”

I couldn’t get enough of their romance, they had a nice chemistry and the erotic scenes were very steamy. What I really appreciated though in their relationship was the way they were able to communicate, Pia might have been hesitant in the beginning, but as the story progressed both Nate and Pia were very expressive about their feelings and most importantly, no matter who tried to stand between them, they always remained devoted to each other.
“How would he ever be satisfied with another woman now that he knew her?”

Romance wasn’t the only thing this book had going on, the paranormal aspect of the story was really good too. All the things that were happening in the haunted house were very creepy, but no matter what the actions of the ghost, the author still managed to make me care about her. Sarah’s story was heartbreaking and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her every time I discovered another part of it. Pia always insisted that her paranormal team was there to help people, but I only understood what she meant in the end of the book after she managed to uncover the truth and help Sarah and her family to finally find peace.

I voluntarily reviewed the free copy that i received via Reading Alley.

While this could be read as a standalone, it merges seamlessly into the Beyond the Grave series. A strong paranormal thread drives this story with interesting characters adding to the appeal.

This is the third book in the Beyond the Grave series, it was very enjoyable. This book has the necessary elements for a good book. The storyline is engaging and strong, the mystery kept me guessing with the twists thrown in, and the characters are strong, believable, and relatable. This is the first book in this series I have read, I would really like to go back and read the previous ones. This is a new author for me, I look forward to reading more f her work.

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

**Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book.**

When you're about to be arrested for murder, who do you call?

Pia is a psychic and uses her gift in her job as a paranormal investigator. She can sense things, hear thoughts, see futuristic events, and even talk to spirits. This all comes in handy when hunting down the paranormal entities that haunt their clients' homes and businesses. But her powers also make it nearly impossible to maintain a steady relationship. Something always happens to rip her happiness away.

Nate isn't discouraged by Pia's abilities, however. He's seen the craziness of the paranormal world first hand and won't let a little thing like psychic abilities prevent him from getting the girl. And when Pia's future is threatened by a murderous ghost looking for vengeance, he will do whatever it takes to clear her name and keep her safe. Even if it means protecting Pia from herself.

It took me a while to read this. Not because there's anything wrong with the story but because I chose the wrong time to read it. This book has ghosts and creepy dolls. That's a scary combination on any given day but even worse for me because my hubby was gone this week. That meant a lot of quiet nights where reading a scary story made me jump at every shadow on the wall. Fair warning: this book has a high level of "creepy". More than the previous books in the series. Be prepared.

I enjoyed this book despite the fact that I was terrified to wake up and find the ghost of a girl at the foot of my bed. Yikes! I think this is one of the times when the paranormal plot out-shined the romance. I got completely wrapped up in figuring out Sarah's story and seeing things from her point of view was devastating but intriguing. Her story was filled with twists and turns that shocked me. I loved that element of the book.

The romance between Nate and Pia was quick to start and progress. I was actually a little surprised to see how soon the feelings of love came into play. But the love scenes were definitely of the spicy variety. Our couple was dynamite in the bedroom (and everywhere else) and they were able to sneak in plenty of naughty time between hunting down ghosts and barely escaping dangerous houses.

There was really only one thing that disappointed me about this story. In the first two books, Nate and Pia's relationship was very entertaining as they argued like an old married couple. There were sparks between them that I was really looking forward to seeing fly here, too. But even from the first encounter in this book, the pair were softer with each other and got along much better than I expected. I was hoping for some more feisty bickering between the two.

In closing...
A nice addition to the series. Four suns!

"Girl Unseen" by Athena Daniels is the 3rd book in the series, though it works well alone.
I got it from Reading Deals, and - honestly saying - I wasn't very glad, because it is not my favourite genre - mix of paranormal fiction and romance. But I started to read - and I couldn't leave it!
It is really interesting, touching and well written. You just feel being inside the story.
Highly recommended for summer holidays - you won't be bored!

‘Ever since Pia had entered the house, something, someone, had been trying to reach her’

Australian author Athena Daniels has special interests and talents in metaphysics and natural therapies and is a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) practitioner, life coach, and feng shui specialist. The very beautiful Athena extends her thinking into explorations of what more there is to life as we understand it, and all of this adds interest to her literary talent for writing romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Athena’s books include DESPERATE, THE ALCHEMIST’S SON, THE SEER’S DAUGHTER and this book GIRL UNSEEN which is actually Book 3 in her ‘Beyond the Grave series.

To create a romance integrating paranormal qualities can be a challenge, but it is a challenge Athena seems to come by naturally. She offers a sense of understanding the paranormal subject matter – more that just a rich imagination – and that may be related to her other life interests that infuse her writing. She molds her characters well, allows the reality of those who have no appreciation or belief in the ‘beyond the grave’ world to grow and interact with those who do believe and in mastering this conundrum she manages to instill her mystery with palpable and erotic physical interactions.

Her synopsis explains the outline of the story well: ‘Some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried…Pia has made a dead girl a promise. One that she is determined to keep. But is she prepared for the nightmare that’s about to be unleashed? When Pia Williams, a gifted psychic medium, is contacted by the traumatized spirit of a young girl, her search to uncover the truth begins. The more Pia learns about the girl’s gruesome fate, the more determined she is to bring those responsible to justice. But is she prepared for the shocking truth of what she’s about to expose? With more questions than answers, one thing becomes clear to Pia: the girl’s spirit is uniquely powerful, and she’s killing from beyond the grave. Who—or what—is the girl now? A victim, or a demon with murderous intentions? What really happened to her? And how far will Pia go to help her get revenge? Accused of a murder the spirit commits, Pia reaches out to the only man who can help her: ex-Special Forces detective Nate Ryder. A man who is as dangerous to her heart as the situation she seeks his help with. Nate would move mountains for the woman he loves, but how can he protect her against forces he can’t even see? As Pia and Nate are swept into an unpredictable situation brimming with dark, evil intent, they soon discover they have more to fear from the living than they ever did from the dead’

Yes, part of the beauty of this book is the setting in Australia – a place that those of us who have not visited long to see! This is a beautifully molded novel, one that challenges credibility until we release disbelief and simply enjoy the story.

I have had this author on my sights for awhile now with finally getting to open one of the novels of hers. This one had several elements I crave in a novel-suspense, special forces even if ex, romance and the touch of paranormal. This gets your interest right away when Pia is in trouble. Having not read ones before did not matter I could still enjoy this one being given a excellent foundation that pertains to this story and characters. The suspense is threaded through with the paranormal as the thread closing you the reader in as it progresses. Nate does have his work cut out with his part but he stands up to the challenge. These two will bind together as the story and the truth unravel with what really happened to this girl. Great action with the intrigue being superb keeping me in this one from beginning to end.

I love the Beyond the Grave series and Pia and Nate's story did not disappoint. I loved how Pia had trouble readily "reading" Nate's thoughts or emotions unless they were especially strong. I like to think destiny does that on purpose for the fated mate of a psychic, thus enabling Pia to have a fairly normal relationship. The writing makes the intense emotions of the story leap off the page. I could not put this book down until it was done.

This is the third book of the Beyond The Grave series. Pia is a psychic that enlists the help of an ex-Special Forces detective named Nate. Together they work together to solve a case that is 30 years old.

Right near the end of the book, I teared up. It was sad what had happened to the case victim, but she got justice.

This was a great book. I enjoyed it very much.

When this story started out my heart was in my throat and I felt such pain for a little girl I didn’t know. As the story went on just a few more sentence and I was so with Mark shaking my head yes with slapping Pia and agreeing 100 % with you are scaring me. When Pia said I’m good I was thinking I am not….what have I gotten myself into reading this story but as I read on the author pulled me in making my heart beat fast more than once.
The story of Sarah is just so heartbreaking it really had me wanting so much to pull the child out of the story. I wanted to help her with her vengeance as well as help Pia when she is suspected for a murder. I really liked the characters as well as the plot. The twists and turns kept it interesting. It was well written just a wonderful read. It is very easy to buy into the story the plot is wonderful and so believable. I am not one to buy into the paranormal but I do love reading it. This is one author that knows how to pull you in and making you believe every word she writes. It is a very thrilling read filled with mystery and romance. The characters are wonderful as the scene play out you can picture them in your mind as the author takes you to another level with suspense that grabs you and keeps you holding you spellbound.

The author truly is an amazing writer that really brings out your imagination and at times scaring the crap out of you. The story has a wonderful balance between action, suspense and romance that is intriguing and keeps you on the edge. As a paranormal goes it is very emotional and captivating it was a story I couldn’t put down from the first page to the last.

I could not put this down! Pia is a medium (psychic) and Nate is a former detective that now works for an outside company. When Pia stumbles upon something that lands her in some hot water she calls for Nate's help.
When something tragic happens in a place, the environment around the area will remember what happens. Like that one time you fell off your bike and even though it was 20 years ago you still remember exactly how it felt.
Girl Unseen takes you on a ride in figuring out what happened to a little girl. In the meantime, you get a glimpse of a budding relationship between the two main characters. I will be honest I lost a little bit of sleep because if Athena Daniels last night and scared the crap out of myself today while reading. You can feel the emotions of all the characters leap off the page at you and it is almost like having an out of body experience. You feel what the characters feel, see what they see.
Even though this is #3 in the series it can be read as a stand alone.

Holy Toledo Batman!
What an adventurous book this was to read! Once I started I couldn't put it down until I got to the end.

Between the mystery part of this story and the developing relationship between Pia and Nate, trust me you won't be bored!

This book was an unexpected twist with mystery, paranormal, and a little romance just to keep you on your toes.
Just when you think you will have the whole story figured out there's always a twist that authors love to throw at you. I did not see that ending coming!!

While this is a 3rd installment in the series, this book can be read as a standalone. I however, will be picking up the first 2 if they are as good as this one!

Pia Williams is a psychic medium, and she works on the television show Paranormal Research and Investigation. Tonight they are looking into strange happenings in a lighthouse keepers cottage. This will be one of the most dangerous and difficult cases she has ever taken on.
Nate Ryder is an ex cop who along with his team have started Taipan Security and Investigations. The woman he has not been able to forget for the last six months calls to say she needs his help . He knows her talent is true but this case will push everyone to the limit.
Sarah is our ghost who is incredibly powerful and filled with a righteous rage. Can Pia help before there are more deaths?
A wonderful, spooky story with lots of action. A murder, mystery to solve and a scorching hot romance. It has everything and will keep you guessing all the way through.
I loved it.

This is the third book to the series and far different than the first two. The main cast is close to the last story, but let's us into the lives of Pia Williams, a medium and Nate Ryder co owner of Taipan Inc. (a group of specialists who found more leverage being outside of the government.

Pia has always lived with her walls stronger and thicker than and bank vault. In her line of work it is a must. The dead seek her out to tell their story or to help them see the light. Then there are the kind that have ghosts that have unfinished business, these are the ones that haunt the homes and families. Her group of Debunking Reality, a TV series, is a group of paranormal who helped in a small town where Pia met Nate. He got under her skin judging her so called abilities. If he couldn't see it, it was not real. After fighting the master demon, last book, Pia and the group head to a new town to help out a family who hears more than a bump in the night. Somehow a murder takes place in the home and Pia is now the main suspect. Having no one in her life to trust, she calls on the man that irked her the most.

Nate Ryder loved his new position as part owner of a special ops unit that became more like family. No longer under the government's control, he could choose his assignments. A message on his cell phone made him drop everything and rush to Pia's side. She was the most exasperating woman he had ever met, yet he knew that she did truly have a gift and could not have killed anyone. Ethan takes charge and takes Pia to his home to talk about the case. He had no intentions of letting her go from his sight for fear of her demise or never seeing her again.

Sarah is a ghost who has a lot of unfinished business and she MUST get revenge on all those who did wrong. She is the spirit that is wrecking the house and is very mad that no one sees her. No one knows who she is or what her story is, but Pia knows that a creepy doll is the key. This doll was an expensive antique doll with real facial features as well as human hair. The eyes are unnerving and follow you around the room watching, waiting.

Somehow everything is connected from the people who have died in the past on that ocean side property. Everyone always believed that the haunting belonged to the lighthouse, but Pia is desperate to learn the truth. She now has a little girl who is special, just like Pia, that found the doll and awoke Sarah. Can Pia solve this mystery and unravel all of the loose strings?

I loved the entire story! Creepy possessed doll, poltergeist activity, mediums, and of course the burning question about Pia and Nate's future. Somehow their story became more powerful than the first two books that we met them in. The story had many twists and turns that kept me on the edge wanting to know who, what, when, and why? It was the perfect balance, it wasn't drawn out, love the "bad boy" side of the Taipan and would LOVE to read more about the other members Sam (Spiderman) Wells, Daniel Smith with the awesome K9 officer Max are the main members of the ops team. They fight for those they love and would make an extremely juicy tale! I know that I will read this story many more times in the future! I was given this book to review from the author/publisher through Reading Alley and in exchange I give my unbiased opinion

Well that was a surprise, after thinking there were only two books in the series, up pops number three, and what a great book it was.

Pia and Nate are explosive together, this case involves a young girl and it is heartbreaking to read what she has gone through in her short life. Once again we are entertained with Pia's psychic abilities and Nate's need to protect her.

Absolutely loved this book. There are certainly more stories lurking in the paranormal world and some unanswered questions relating to this story and I would love to read some more.

Well done Athena Daniels for another entertaining book. Thanks to Reading Alley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was an amazing story! Pia is a medium who works on a TV show, they are investigating a house and a man gets killed when the spirit of an angry girl kills him. Pia is taken in for questioning and she calls Nate to help her. Together, they have to uncover more about Sara and her death and why she is killing. What went on in the lighthouse cottage? I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. This is the first in the series that I read and I didn't need to read the other 2 first. They are mentioned but not necessary for the story. We do hear a bit about some abuse situations so that may be troubling for some people but it doesn't go into detail. I want to go back and read the other 2 now just because it's obviously a great series!

Girl Unseen is the third book in the Beyond the Grave series, although you could read this as a standalone. Previous characters are mentioned, but nothing where you wouldn't understand what was going on.

Pia, the psychic medium we met in the first two books, is witness to a murder when she and the rest of the team are filming a show. The only trouble is that the murderer is a ghost. Which leaves her and the team in trouble. She makes a call that she never thought she would, to Nate - the detective that she met six months before. Happy to receive a call he never thought would happen, Nate drops everything to go and help her, but soon realises that there is more going on than meets the eye... quite literally.

Athena Daniels has once again done a magnificent job of creating chilling situations that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. The pacing is smooth, with no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed, but then I was completely hooked on the story. I have to say - the doll? FREAKED ME OUT!!! And yet I couldn't stop reading, that is how hooked I was. This is a strong book, with a horrific situation talked about in enough detail to shock and sadden, but without it being gratuitous.

As previously said, you could read this as a standalone, but seriously, why do that? You are missing out on an amazing author and creepy, paranormal, scary stories that are also full of hope. Absolutely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

In Girl Unseen: Beyond the Grave series #3 Pia Williams is a physic medium for the Australian paranormal investigations television show, Debunking Reality. The team have been asked to banish a poltergeist so disruptive the owners of an old fisherman’s cottage have moved out, afraid for their two young daughters. Pia is conscious of more: the presence of a terrified girl. Is she the “girl unseen” in this story of the supernatural by Athena Daniels? When a murder is committed in the house whilst it was in “lock-down”, Pia becomes the chief suspect. Nate Ryder, ex-Special Forces detective, gets her set free by the police without charge. How long will freedom last? Can Pia keep a promise to a dead child when her powers are muddled by Nate’s sexual attraction? Can he help the woman he loves when he doesn’t understand the forces ranged against her?

Girl Unseen: Beyond the Grave series #3 is a supernatural mystery, thriller, and steamy romance. Athena Daniels has created such a strong story she had me believing in ghosts, and demonic entities, yet it is all set in a realistic situation. Mark, creator of the most popular reality show on television, is intent on it remaining top in the ratings. The baffled police want a speedy conviction of their murder suspect. The furious owners, whose house is badly damaged at the time of the murder, turn the scandal-hungry media against the investigators… Girl Unseen is a powerful, unpredictable novel with characters who force the reader to empathise with their pain, heartache, and passion.

This is the most unexpected combination of genres I have seen in a book, and it works!
The sexiest haunting mystery I have ever read! The author really possess an open mind, she knows when to exactly reflects the themes in this story, and every part of it is engrossing, from the moment you read the first page you would not be able to stop.
What’s first seem as an act of kindness for a sorrowful soul without rest, later turns into a dangerous threat that maybe will never stop, it’s up to the steamy couple Pia and Nate to figure out a way on how to deal with this. A paranormal story with everything in between, the twists caught me completely off guard, and yes, despite this being part horror, there is nothing cliché on it, I enjoy it from beginning to end.
On a side note, I also like the fact that the description clarifies this can be perceive as a standalone story despite being the Volume 3 of the series, I have to read the previous two, from now all I can say is, buy this and read it.

Girl Unseen is the third instalment of Athena's Beyond the Grave series. Having read The Seer's Daughter and The Alchemist's Son, I was eager to lay my hands on a copy of Girl Unseen. As is what is in my view Athena's trademark writing style, I was kept in suspense from the beginning to the very end. This book is centred around previously introduced characters Pia and Nate. Pia is strong, smart and gifted and she is contacted by the spirit of a traumatized young girl (Sarah) - a girl with a past life that is nothing short of chilling. I found it hard to put the book down as the story unfolded of Sarah's past and the reason for her thirst for murder and revenge.

The storytelling was such that I felt I was walking right alongside Pia and am willing to admit I shed a tear for Sarah as the story of her pain unfolded. Nate proves to be a strong, loyal and sexy partner for Pia and their chemistry is nothing short of HOT. If you love a book that keeps you intrigued from the first page, and if you love a book that sends you deep into the characters worlds, then you'll love this.

Great premise, well executed. Athena Daniels seems to have this effortless way of bringing me into a scene and sweeping me along with the story. The balance of romance and action was good. I appreciated that the action and plot kept me intrigued from beginning to end. There were a few minor characters that I wish had been more developed. There were some repetitious parts, where Pia worried and questioned in circles (questions that I could guess the answers to easily), and though it wasn't out of character for the narrator's voice, as a reader, it started to feel like filler.

(SPOILERS IN THIS PART): My greatest criticism would be that even though Pia has been accused of a murder committed by a ghost, you never really feel the cops breathing down her neck. You don't see the case building against her. You don't feel the antagonist. However, the story of the ghost and the answers that come as Pia investigates the true reason for the murder (also the danger that the ghost brings) is intriguing, nail-biting, and really delivers.

Girl Unseen (Beyond the Grave, #3) by Athena Daniels is the third addition in this series that grabs your attention from the beginning pages and doesn't let go until the finale. We begin with Pia the protagonist and her team of ghost-hunters, searchers, paranormal investigators in a lighthouse keeper's cottage, trying to find out what is happening upstairs. While her team is filming the action, Pia comes across a spirit with some issues and who wants some revenge. Danger and murder ensue, getting this book off to a fast start. Unfortunately for Pia, she becomes the chief suspect in the murder, because it happened on her watch during the filming of her popular reality show. A creative mix of supernatural mystery, heady romance, and thriller, Athena Daniels has created such a powerful story that you might find yourself believing in ghosts, even against your better judgement. Pick up this book for a fast, fun and entertaining escape into the supernatural.

Girl Unseen

Another amazing addition to this scary but sexy paranormal series.

I loved the depth of emotion in this one. There was a lot of prejudice to overcome and I just enjoyed the journey Pia and Nate took.

The twist and turns were fun and I really enjoyed trying to solve the mystery. I think that's one of my favorite parts of this series I never know what's going to happen till the end.

This book really touched me because of the subject manner and made me emotional.

I can't wait to see what happens next with all the other characters.

This book can be read as a standalone from the first two but I highly recommend reading them if you haven't.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, it was something different and unexpected. with plenty of action, romance and intrigue, it kept me reading and interested until the end. Pia's gift of being able to 'read people' and also talk to the spirit world was intriguing, imagine knowing what the people around you were thinking and having to be on guard from this constantly, it was interesting that because she was unable to read Nate this made her extremely wary of him and she seemed to be on guard even more. I will now go back and read the first two books in the series, though it can definitely be read without.

As someone who is not normally a paranormal reader, I really loved this book! It has so much depth. While reading you are on an emotional roller coaster. It's story of a girl, Pia Williams who has never really fit in anywhere. She's psychic and considered a misfit in her hometown.

When she stumbles upon a strange occurrence, she works with a team of paranormal investigators.

This story will leave you on the edge of your seat with action-packed adventure. At times you will be frightened to your core. Be forewarned if certain things are upsetting to you, this book has several triggers.

If you haven't read the first two books in this series, don't panic. This can easily be read as a stand alone, but why start at the end when there's two phenomenal books you would miss out on?
Again this author has woven a story full of paranormal activities that will leave the hair on your arm standing. With each of her books you are drawn in with an amazing storyline and strong characters, and this no exception. A must read for any paranormal fan!!
