This book definitely has potential. It is a fast paced story with a lot going on, and an interesting magic system. The story reads like a teenager’s diary, with snippets of each chapter coming from the perspective of various characters.
*
Siriarna is a shy, naive, awkward girl who struggles with magic but whose ability to remember every word she reads comes in handy. Roman is her charming, good looking best friend who makes some shady choices. Alexandraya is the classic mean girl, complete with looks, talent, and a band of loyal followers. Braxton is the mysterious boy who steps in at the right time. There are a few other characters as well, but those are the main perspectives. I liked the side character Miriam the most.
*
The story starts with Siriarna as a 15 year old, then quickly time jumps two years to right before she turns 18 and has been at the school for two years. There is some world building, but I would have liked to explore the school more, maybe with a few chapters to bridge that two year gap.
*
We do get some magical lessons at school, a short quest that involves our main characters, a magical challenge competition for the students, and some glimpses of the gods and goddesses of Olympus. That was all fun.
*
I was a little frustrated with the relationships in the book. The characters are high school age, so they do act dramatic, but there is not really any accountability for choices that one character makes that have big impacts on another character they supposedly care about. I was also a little taken back by the little bit of romance that was included. There was a brief bit of spice, which was fine, but it felt a little off with the tone of the rest of the book up until that point.
*
I would recommend this book if you like fantasy stories with classic tropes like the heroine’s journey of self discovery, magic training montages, the opposite gender best friend, the secretly powerful misfit, the antagonist and the clique, and the absent or negative parental figure. You might also like this book if you like novels with greek mythology. I would also recommend this book if you like quick reads with high school vibes.

In Siriarna, Greek mythology comes alive, with gods, semi-gods, magic, heroes and villains perfectly woven into a cohesive narrative. Throughout the book, the author uses brilliant imagination and unexpected plot twists to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Siriarna, an outcast among semi-gods, is bullied by Alexandraya, a self-centered semi-god who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. As Siriarna tries to master her powers, she faces her own journey of self-discovery. In the face of the cruelty inflicted upon her by the TON, the reader is able to witness her resilience and determination to survive. The failure of Roman to support her during her time of need is in contrast to Braxton's willingness to help her in any way he can. Siriarna becomes a relatable and inspirational protagonist as each chapter unfolds.

With its captivating characters, intricate plot, and rich world-building, "Siriarna" is a must-read for fans of Greek mythology and magical fantasy. Highly recommended.

I read this book so quickly because it is beautifully written and fast-paced. The characters are interesting and dynamic, I absolutely loved how the multiple POVs added to the story.
The Greek mythology mixed with a fascinating world of magic is so wonderful. I was hooked from the first page, the first line, the first word, even!
I would highly recommend this read for anyone interested in fantasy, mythology, and young love.

This was an extremely fast read for me. The Greek mythology that floods this book is great. The dialogue between characters is entertaining and i thoroughly enjoy the different POV chapters from other characters.
The only con I have for this book is I wish there was more world building to create better visuals for the readers that see images when they read so they could have a better idea of the worlds that have been created cause they are great.

Beautifully written characters, with amazing world building. A dynamic Greek mythology with romance. I loved Siriarna's story. Her struggles to find her powers and her strength was very emotional. There are so many little plot twist... I love those moments of wait, what just happened.
Siriarna... "The Goddess of above"
Loved the Playlist at the end 🩷

This is the first book in Divine Destinies series. This book has a little bit of everything, Greek Gods, semi-gods, magic, adventure and a touch of romance. The characters are well developed and have a great mix of magic and ordinary. I loved the plot and all of its twists and turns.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

I liked it! Siriarna is about an 18 year old girl who lives in a world of magic and Greek Gods. Even though she possesses little magic in a place that defines your worth with your level of magic, she is sweet and somewhat naïve. I like having different characters points of view. Definitely worth reading the next book.
