Born as Katie Infield in Brighton, East Sussex, England on May 22 1978, I changed my last name to Price when my mother Amy remarried. I have an older brother, Daniel, and a younger sister, Sophie.
Although I had many interests when I was younger, a friend suggested that I should pursue a modeling career. So I sent a few shots to an agency and was taken on. I attended loads of castings, had my fair share of negative responses then one day, in a studio next to where I was working, a model failed to turn up for a shoot. The photographer asked around if anyone would be interested in doing a topless shoot… and the rest, as they say, is history!
My topless modeling career took off in 1996 when I appeared in The Sun as part of the ‘Page 3′ pictorial. The legendary section of the tabloid features a different girl each day posing topless. I was the first topless model to grace the Page 3 for a whole week – fully dressed on a Monday, then each day revealing more and more untill Friday – full topless. The exposure boosted my career and I soon became one of the UKs most famous models, under the pseudonym ‘Jordan.’
From there on I graced many magazine front covers , not just in the UK but also across Europe. My popularity soon reached even further afield and I posed for Playboy, landing on the front cover of the September 2002 issue.
I have been through many well-publicised relationships. And my illnesses, including the removal of a tumor from one of my fingers and complications with my pregnancies and family, have been very public.
Oh my God how bad was this book?! I had hoped, seeing as it was ghost written, that it might be OK - how wrong I was. If you want a book that will make you feel like you are following Katie Price around like an ITV2 film crew then this is the book for you. It didn't feel like a story, it felt like some sort of diary. I did learn something from it though - apart from the luxury home I want nothing to do with celebrity if this is the life they lead! Fickle friendships, more time spent being buffed up in her boudoir than with her daughter, back and forth between two very similar brainless brawny celebrity sportsmen, a silly bint who turns into a stalker (?!) and a closeted agent who seemed deranged one minute and then disappeared from the plot completely. Must try harder!
I read all sorts of books. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who read nothing but books like "War and Peace" - so called "intellectual" books - and look down their noses at people who read chick-lit. Don't get me wrong, I read classics and the heavier books. But sometimes, if you read too much of those sort of books they can bog you down and you need purely to be entertained. I have no shame in admitting that I read Katie Price books for this purpose and I enjoy them.
So, Paradise - this is the third novel about the character of Angel Summer, the glamour model. I didn't like it as much as the two previous books though. Angel and her daughter Honey are now living with Ethan, with her marriage to Cal over. Angel can't seem to get Cal out of her head though, but she is with Ethan and Cal has a new girlfriend. It's too late to go back now, isn't it? Well, we soon find out.
I didn't like this book as much as the previous two. The character of Gemma seemed very bland, without much of a personality or interests beyond clothes and fashion. She had much more of a voice in the previous books. Jez was as funny as ever, and of course there's the queen of mean, Simone, who is still on top form. There was also a cameo appearance of Sapphire and Jay from the novel Sapphire.
The outcome of the book was what I think everyone was hoping for. Angel is the character Katie seems to write most about, and I think it's because she has based her on herself.
It's six months since beautiful model Angel Summer found herself having to choose between a life with Ethan Turner, the laid-back californian baseball playeer, or giving her marriage to football star Cal Bailey another go. Her friends and family were stunned when she picked Ethan, but it looks like Angel made the right decision: Ethan loves her and she loves him.
But nothing is perfect. Ethan has secrets in his past that could threaten their relationship, and when he faces financial ruin the couple are forced to star in a reality TV show about their life together. Despite everything. though, Angel is convinced that Ethan is man for her. So why can't she stop thinking about Cal?
As the tabloids have always been quick to point out, the path of true love has never run smoothly for our sexy celebrity, and when her dad falls dangerously ill Angel rushes back to England to be by his bedside, throwing her and Cal back together. But Ethan loves her, Cal has a girlfriend, and Angel has made her choice. It's too late to go back now... isn't it?
Read this in a day, loved it so much :) Angel is obviously based on Katie. She writes what she knows. I didn't always agree with some of the choices Angel made, like waiting until she was about to say 'I Do' before deciding not to go through with it. Tad harsh. I nearly cried when we thought Angel was going to lose her dad, but I was at work so had to keep those tears firmly in! Kate write good chick lit and I hope she does more in the Angel series. Also this book has made me warm to the name Honey for a little girl. Quiet sweet I think :)
It was ok, alright, but the first book in the series still remains my favourite, where Angel was just starting out in her life and wasnt "madly in love" with Cal or Ethan. Poor Ethan, at the end of this book i felt so bad for him. Cal was a huge idiot in the last book, cheating on Angel, hopefully hes changed his ways now they're back together, and i dont reckon there will be another in this series, and i think it ended Ok.
My favorite Katie Price book. Angel is back and after choosing Ethan over her childhood sweetheart and father of her daughter, Cal, she discovers life isn't always easy. Ethan has secrets, but Angel still believes he is The One. But she can't stop thinking about Cal... Full of twists and turns, sexy, passionate romance, heartbreak, love, desire and moments that keep you on the edge of your seat.
These stories are so, so nice. I couldnt get the idea of Angel being with Ethan- I mean he loved her and when she rejected him on the day of the wedding, he told her all nasty things, I never liked him anyway. And I was so happy that Angel ended up with Cal again. Can not escape love, right?
I couldn't put this book down I loved it I really felt for angel and the whole book was hoping she would b with cal when she did I was so happy I am really enjoying katie prices books and I look forward to reading the other ones
Loved this book, couldn't put it down. Katie had you hooked on the Angel and Cal story from book one- she knows how to get the readers attention and keep it.
I read this when I was a teenager so I really enjoyed it because it was so light. After reading Crystal I began reading more mature books and at the time I did really enjoy this.
This is the third book of 'Angel' series by Katie Price and my first ever Chic-Lit. I am disappointed seeing the Number of positive reviews it got on various other sites and also on Goodreads. Coming to the story the plot is rather straight and bland with unnecessary twists and turns which helps nothing but makes the book a little thicker. Characters are the major fail of this book. The Main Protagonist of the Story is a woman named Angel who is a Model and currently living in L.A because of her relationship with Ethan who is a baseball player and is his hometown. The author has tried too hard to make us like Angel and she has failed miserably. After a quick read, I can say just one thing for Angel - "She's a bitch". The other characters of this Amazing work are quite likeable especially Angel's friends (sarcasm). The only character I liked in here was Ethan because he was well written and his intentions were never political in nature. Most of the characters are Confusing and we, as a reader, don't know their purpose of being there. To be frank- I hated the book, I never had quite high expectations, to begin with. If I could change something in this book that would definitely be self-praising of Angel by the author and casual racism used as a plot device. I can never recommend this book to anyone. If you are into chic-lit you've several great options just don't touch this. This book is a mistake.
I’ve never felt like a story was just…. pointless?
I read ‘Angel Uncovered’ (the second book in the series) and enjoyed its open ending; leading readers (like myself) to daydream and wonder about the possible outcomes and the future of the protagonist.
This book however, just made me HATE the female lead, the side characters, the weird villain that to me, came out of NOWHERE!!! I kept wondering what angle the story was trying to take and how far they were willing to go — like the author really said: “hmm, how do I just bring drama at every single point in this book to my characters?”
The female lead could never catch a break, the love interests were unlikeable and frankly, I would have loved it if she ended up alone (she couldn’t quite let herself heal on her own) — all in all, I’m giving it 3 stars because I hold the second book to the highest regard, it’s the book that got me into reading proper. So, on that note, read this at your own risk (seriously)
I picked this up out of curiosity and it confirmed my worst suspicions. Reading it is like watching a slow-motion car crash; it's so compellingly awful that you keep on turning the pages just to see if it manages to redeem itself, perhaps with an imaginative plot-twist, or even by giving you a wink to let you know that it isn't taking itself too seriously. But no. This really does take itself seriously. And it is truly and utterly dreadful.
Ghost-written by Rebecca Farnworth, this is the 3rd instalment of this character's story - it follows "Angel" and "Angel Uncovered" which I really did (to my huuuuuge surprise) love!
No spoilers here. This is a will-they-won't-they saga Pricey style. Easy reading. Proper tidy!
I understand love is not logic but why would go back to someone who hurt you and leave behind someone who protects you effortlessly? Women can be so unpredictable.
Great story ideal for holiday book. Very light reading with a great storyline. Would definitely read again and interested to read more of Katie prices novels now.
