A reckless sacrifice to protect a family legacy...
Sarah
Kidnapped. Imprisoned. Ravished.

When tragedy stole my family, my father’s will mandated my future. I didn’t inherit Atwood Industries. I became the only one capable of protecting it.

Atwood Industries belongs only to a male heir, my heir. And my enemies—my own step-brothers—will stop at nothing to create a shared bloodline.

But they’ve made a mistake, and they’ll forever regret trying to control me.

Nicholas

Damned. Destroyed. Enthralled.

My family’s livelihood depended on acquiring the rival Atwood Industries and seizing the innocent woman bound within its terms of succession.

I never expected such a challenge from my step-sister.

I never thought I’d betray my own blood to protect her from the nightmare we began.

But if I don’t stop her, the woman I’m forbidden to love will sacrifice herself to tear apart my billion dollar empire...

Note: This novel is a dark romance which will include themes of captivity, abuse, and sexual encounters with multiple partners. The story may be uncomfortable for certain readers. However, the series will feature a Happily Ever After and will not include themes of cheating/adultery.

4.5 'Bennett' Stars

Forbidden, scorching hot, invigorating, suspenseful and downright RAW.

Atwood Industries and the Bennett Corporation has been arch enemies for over thirty years. When the head of Atwood Industries, passes, the company was inherited by both his sons. Unexpectedly, the unforeseen death of both sons, two weeks later, in a plane crash, has left Atwood Industries at the mercy of the Bennett Corporation. Therein, leaving the only living child, Sarah Meredith Atwood, to lead the stock.

Now the CEO and prime shareholder of a multi-billion dollar company. Sarah has a lot to represent with Atwood Industries. Growing their farm from a little homestead out west into a major, multi-thousand acre empire of diversified crops and ranches, stretching from Southern California and encroaching onto other southwest states.
Sarah was never intended to be part of the company and involve herself with the decisions necessary for running Atwood Industries. Sarah's role as an Atwood woman, was to help her mother, study, and distract the guests at their galas, with her pretty dresses and sensible conversation.

******

Darius Bennett, head of Bennett Corporation, has always wanted to acquire Atwood Industries. Rivaling over the years. After Mark Atwood's death, he saw an opportunity, and swooped in an married the widowed Atwood. Knowing full well her grief, overpowered any sensible thinking on Mrs.Atwood's part, now a Bennett. With this marriage, Sarah gained three step-brothers - Nicholas, Maxwell and Reed. Along with a conniving step-father, that only wants to acquire Atwood Industries to enhance his power, land acreage and money.

Making a bold move, Nicholas Bennett, offers to buy Atwood Industries at a reasonable price, well above the market value. Infuriated, over all the recent events; Nicholas Bennett, only adds salt to the wounds. Refusing, and adamant that Bennett Corporation will never get a hold of Atwood Industries, Sarah calls upon a clause within her father's Will. A clause which states that the company will be passed to Mark Atwood's blood male heir. Standing her ground and enforcing the legality of the Will. Sarah will lead until she produces a son. The next blood male heir, to Atwood Industries. Leaving her step-brothers flabbergasted, and her step-father furious.

Bennett ruthlessness was legendary.

******
Nicholas Atwood was born and breed to take over the Bennett Corporation. Nicholas is the legacy; breed and groomed, sculpted and beaten into the right temperament, to serve as Darius's replacement. Maxwell is the muscle. His forms of coercion are of a more hands on appeal. And then soft sweet Reed. Reed wines and dines. Making a name for the Bennett Corporation among all the charities and philanthropists.

My father existed in a world where cruelty created opportunities for those brave enough to shed their decency and devour those less ambitious. He groomed me for that life, exercising one rule. Family first- at the expense of all else.
We had our roles.
Heir. Muscle. Charity. Deviating wasn't an option.

Nicholas knew that challenging Darius Bennett, became the most unimaginable mistake, Sarah could ever make. Darius Bennett never refuses a challenge. Using the Will's clause, Darius devises a plan for his sons to breed Sarah Atwood and produce a Bennett heir. An heir to the Atwood Empire. One that will be used to Takeover the Atwood's and obtain the ultimate power, by possessing both empires. A joined bloodline. They would have to use devious and illegal means to obtain the end result. Abducting, raping and impregnating their step-sister. All to preserve the legacy.

Darius Bennett is a sick sadistic, power hungry man. he would do anything to obtain power and at any costs. His recent plan is the sickest of all his lewd conquests. Controlling Sarah Atwood isn't simply about gaining control of Atwood Industries. It's about a more baser and visceral need to conquer and tame. At the hand of Darius, Sarah has endured some vicious beatings, all to the dismay of her step-brothers.

"My dear, it's nothing personal. Fight us or spread your legs willingly. The torment is yours to create."
"You'll remain as our guest, bound within our walls and trapped in your brothers' beds, until the day you bear our son."

As the brothers carry out the monstrous plan, Nicholas, never thought he would develop feelings for Sarah. And because of this, he knew, the only way to save her, was to punish her. If he didn't Darius's forms of punishment, would be even more brutal, than the ones before. In obeying his father, Nicholas and his brothers would have to play the part, to protect her. So his silence would be both his pain and his revenge. But what no one knows, it that Sarah is hiding a secret, that will definitely out a hitch in their plans. A secret that no one knows, not even her parents.

Sarah's strength was unbreakable. She continuously fought against the Bennetts. Always plotting her escape, Attempting to find evidence, connecting Darius Bennett to his crimes. All which worked against her. She kept getting caught and causing herself more bodily harm.

Finding out about another treacherous plan within the Bennett household, within the Bennett empire, Sarah, knows this may be her only chance to escape. But in light of her eventual escape, her feelings for Nicholas blooms, and pains her when, he stays silent at her punishments.

Darius's ruthlessness knows has no bounds. He threatens lives, in wake of getting Sarah to submit. Knowing her soft heart, it will enable him to control and tame her. But he never counted on the journey.

I loved the differences between each Bennett man. Nicholas was commanding, with raw power. Maxwell, was more controlling and severe. While, sweet Reed, with his surfer boys looks. Each Bennett brother suffered at the hands of their father, over the years. Growing to foster a raging hatred for the Atwood's, for the past. Even Darius's role was perfectly written and portrayed. Lana Grayson did a fantabulous job of creating such a raw, erotic novel. Even though it ended on a cliffy, I devoured each page whole heartedly expectant of something even more revealing and thrilling than the last page turned.

Takeover begins with a warning that reads:

“This story is a dark step-brother romance which will include scenes of captivity, physical abuse, non-consensual situations, and sexual encounters with multiple partners.”

So I immediately shared this title with all my twisted sisters and the one-clicking commenced.

How far is too far for a family feud to go? The Bennett’s and Atwood’s have been at each other’s throats for decades, but now that the Atwood’s are just down to Sarah they are poised to take whatever they want, at any costs.

In a pit of depression and despair after losing her husband and two sons, Sarah’s mother marries Darious Bennett, leaving her with three new stepbrothers and a stepfather that she despises. When the offer to purchase the company is rejected, the Bennett clan learns of a loophole to the will that makes it impossible for Sarah to ever agree to a sale. So a plan is hatched by Darious that his sons must carry out. Capture her and do whatever it takes to secure the rights to lay claim to the Atwood’s company.

When Sarah wakes up as a prisoner in their home, she soon learns how far they are willing to go to get what they want. And although each of the Bennett boys have their reservations about what they are required to do, they have no plans to say no to their father.

Both sides carry secrets that will set the other’s plan up to fail and it isn’t until Nicholas claims a little bit of Sarah’s trust that they learn exactly what they are up against and what must be done to ensure that the feud that started more than thirty years ago finally is put to rest. Even if that includes letting her brothers punish her and take her over and over again. And although all Bennett’s may have her body, only one is starting to lay claim to hear heart.

So this story was a little disturbing, but ultimately the dark romance lover in me was jumping up and down over this read. Darious is one evil SOB and even the boys have their moments.

One thing that did drive me crazy was Sarah and her constant talk of hiding her asthma. Okay, I get that she had a really bad, like I’m gonna die, type of asthma... but I was more than frustrated at her constant need to hid it. I get that her father also saw it as a weakness and may have instilled it in her to hid it, but when you’re a prisoner and being threatened with rape and you can’t escape if you can’t breathe... it might be time to put that whole thing aside and ask for an inhaler.

The other was that until the story really picked up the pace it felt too wordy. Like, if Sarah was being told to move from the doorway to a chair across the room, it took multiple paragraphs for that to happen. There was a lot of overdone description that left me skimming over parts at the start and that all really died down as we got to the meat of the story and although I know it's a must to show and not tell, it was a bit much for me for the first half of the book.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this one and immediately one-clicked book two in the trilogy. I am not sure just how these four will overcome their situation and I’m sure the ugly side we saw of Daddy-Darious is going to seem like a cakewalk once he starts to figure out what is going on... but I can’t wait to see how Sarah and Nicholas make their way through this situation where finding love seems like it’s going to be impossible when far too many things seem unforgivable.

If you like your romances dark, twisted and taboo – check this out. And although the author does promise a HEA, the road to get there is not for the faint of heart. So if you’re new to this sort of read, go in with an open mind but be warned that you are going to be pushed far outside of your comfort zone.

Takeover was one of those seize and domination types of reads. It was a pretty solid and gripping read, which luckily, did not tread on any of my hard limits of cheating, love triangles and other character sex scenes.

The plot centers around the acquisition and power struggle behind who wields the Atwood Industries company, and going through all lengths and costs, to acquire it.

From stepfather’s and stepbrothers with nefarious plans and intentions… To their step daughter and sister who finds herself in the middle of their plans and their key to total control and ascendancy. Takeover, is simply as one would imply: “an act of assuming control of something.”

The blurb and teasers are misleading. This story is not just about Sarah and Nicholas. The h is forced to have sex with all three of her step-brothers. That’s not romance (dark or not) to me. I would classify it more as dark erotica. Also it contains abuse-physical and sexual. Reader discretion is advised. Note: This is NOT a stand-alone.

ADDICTIVE. ENTHRALLING. TWISTED. DARK.
This is labeled as a stepbrother romance but it is so much more than that. The book is full of twists and turns, filled with powerful characters and multidimensional heroes.
Three sons. A vindictive father. One girl that has to endure the wrath of her stepfather. A vendetta. One goal. An heir that has to be acquired.
Sarah was a great heroine. I loved how brave she was. I loved how she questioned everything. I admired how she didn't give up.
Nicholas ...Max and Reed. I loved the three brothers. Each one was different. They all managed to intrigue me. I loved Reed's kindness. I was drawn to Max's dominating presence. I was enthralled by Nick's magnetic pull.
This book cannot be summarised. That is why I am not going to give away any spoilers. Just a warning that it is not for the easily offended. It is raw, gritty and dark. There are twists and turns that you won't see coming. It is unconventionally sexy. A real page turner.
The author has an amazing skill in storytelling. The style is detailed but substantial. It doesn't bore you. You crave for more. Each character, even the villain, is ultimately realistic and the settings remind me of a modern yet gritty fairytale.
I need the next book now!!!
5+ Stars from me.

Are you effin' kidding me!? OMG! Lana brought me into a world of a dark, secretive, manipulative family. Two to be honest. When I first started the book I hated every Bennett there was. I still kind of do. I don't know if I want to kill Nicholas or make love to him. And Sarah? Shew. That woman isn't as weak as you'll think. She's got something up her sleeve. Hell is going to freeze over and I can't wait to see what happens!

I can't believe Lana left me hanging in the delicious way that she did. Read and take to heart the warnings kids, and remember, she did warn you <3

In the ebook version, TAKEOVER starts with a warning: “This story is a dark step-brother romance which will include scenes of captivity, physical abuse, non-consensual situations, and sexual encounters with multiple partners.”

I would heed that warning and take it to heart. This book is NOT for the faint of heart. There is indeed all those things and I would even say that that warning was downplayed. At times I found myself completely repulsed by some the scenes and circumstances that which Sarah found herself in. I think what disturbed me more was to some degree she enjoyed those hostile situations. *shakes head* If I were a psychologist and could properly diagnose Sarah, I would say she has a severe case of "daddy issues" and in the end, all said and done, she has a major case of "Stockholm Syndrome"....

Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors.

There are several things from the blurb that I found misleading after completing the book:
1) Romance : Hmm...by no means do I think being held against your will and having your virginity taken away from you by one of your step-brothers, without your consent I might add, be considered "romantic". There is clearly "feelings" building between Nicolas and Sarah as the book goes on, but I would not say that romance is in play at all.
2) Ravished : Again, I don't understand how being forced to have s*x with 3 of your step-brothers and tormented by your step-father (who also wants to r*pe you) would be considered "ravished". Yes, at some point she begins to like the encounters she is having with her step-brothers, but even that seems overshadowed by the fact that she is being held captive...for only one reason...to procreate....with her step-brothers...against her will.... Get where I'm going with this?

It's important to know going into TAKEOVER, it is really brutal in terms of degradation, humiliation, rape, violence, etc.

Now with all that being said, I did give this book a chance and finished it. Lana Grayson did a great job of spinning a plausible plot and developing these intense (and mildly disturbing) characters, so I have to give her credit for that. TAKEOVER does leave you on a slight cliffy, so in order to see if Sarah escapes her captives or even wants to, you will have to read the next book, CONTROLLING INTERESTS.

You know when you're reading a book and then it reminds you of another book, but that book is waaaaaaayyyyy better than the book you're currently reading? Well, I was reading Princes of Ash by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue, and I thought you know who wrote this type of story, but better, Lana Grayson with her Takeover series. I just bought the paperback off of Amazon to do a re-read. I mean this book has hotter guys, a better fmc, and a higher stakes plot. Also the villain is more unhinged and evil than Rufus Ashby could ever be. If you haven't given this series a try and you're looking something similar to, but better than the Royals of Forsyth series, I highly recommend giving this a try.

11/21/2023 update (Re-read):
Def one of those books that I go back and read the second time and it's not as good as the first time since the shock value has worn off. Still a great read though, and I wish the author was still writing. Just a heads up for anyone reading this, the reverse harem isn't end-game (which I remembered as I was rereading this book). This was a big disappoint me for me when I finished reading this series for the first time.

I really tried to find something I liked about this book. The characters are all horrible. I hate every single one of them. The plot line takes suspension of disbelief and tosses it out the window. It just doesn't make sense. Plus the writing is terrible. Way too flowery for me. Get to the fricking point and stop using 30 words to describe an event or emotion that really only needs 5 words to convey the point. Terrible.

I love a good dark story so when this popped up in my news feed on Facebook I bought it. While the story is dark it is not typical of the dark books I have read in the past. That said, it intrigued me. The characters and the settings this story takes place made it an entertaining twist on the dark I have become familiar with.

The characters are so well-defined. Creating a picture of each character was so easy. Each had a unique trait that drew me to them and I admit I fell for the tormentor, the evil and the bad boys once again. Or should I said I fell three times, and I fell hard. 3 of the main leading characters just draw you in. Charismatic, dominate and easy-going, each in their own right, they each deserve to be feared. The fourth leading male character .. well I can still taste the bitterness and hate he has left in my mind. A fearful, heartless man who will command your attention.
The female lead character is written well and shows so many sides to her personality as the story unfolds. She is strong, weak, determined, defeated, loved, hated and desperate.

I liked the element that the story surrounded itself in. I found it to be creative and interesting. While the author sets up the dark scenes, she lets the reader create most of the details in their mind. The same goes for most of the sex scenes. While we read the set up, the author does not overload on description or details.

You can’t help but want the lead female character to survive. You can’t help but believe the whispers of the three brothers who create hope and desire.

An intriguing, suspenseful and shocking story that will keep you turning the pages, The Takeover Series is worth the read if you enjoy dark erotic romance. Filled with twists and turns, shocking and breath holding moments The Takeover Series is a page turner.

Intense.

Raw.

DARK.

Interesting.

Addictive.

Steamy.

Twisted.

If you're a dark romance addict like myself, you'll understand how hard it is to find a book that knows how to use every element in creating a story that doesn't brand itself as dark. But rather, a story that belongs in that category - heart and soul. TAKEOVER is THAT book!

From the very gorgeous cover that I think had become one of my favourites, to the beautiful writing and characters that each have their own sense of knowing who they are and how they can influence one another. I bloody loved this book. I cannot express how much I fall for dark romances when they are done to perfection - in my personal point of view.

Here we have the battle of a war that will never quite be over... Atwood Industries vs the Bennett Corporation. It kind of can be see as the families behind Romeo and Juliet, waging a war with both sides sticking to their own ideas of what is "right". Of course when you have a family business with enemies that will always anything but a liability, there in turn comes that natural fact that you're point of view IS NEVER to be of that from the enemy. It's just expected.

How wrong could this be in Takeover?

When Sarah becomes the sole CEO of Atwood Industries she is faced with choices and decisions that far outweigh what she ever thought would be part of her life. She never even thought of being part of the company let alone become the main contributor in how the business will keep on surviving..

Darius Bennett on the other hand, wants to will all his power in owning Atwood Industries..

My father existed in a world where cruelty created opportunities for those brave enough to shed their decency and devour those less ambitious. He groomed me for that life, exercising one rule. Family first- at the expense of all else. We had our roles.
Heir. Muscle. Charity. Deviating wasn't an option.

Without giving away too much, this book had everything AND anything to do with a a dark, suspenseful, insightful, raw and very emotional not to mention steamy story.

I had to keep my eyes open at 3am just so I could know why Darius said what he did or why Sarah didn't do what I thought would save her some time. Everything about this book invites you in.. It's just not possible to stop after the first page. Nope. Hasn't happened with me and I should know, dark romances are the hardest books that I judge. This one? This one did good, really good!

Thanks to the author for being able to kindly provide an ARC in return for an honest review! Looking forward to the second one and it better come fast, I need more!!

Okay so I have read a lot of dark, gritty books in my days and I don't normally enjoy them to be quite honest. I feel like the world is dark enough as it is without adding more to it. This is one of those books where money and power is in play but I feel like there is so much more to it than just that.

I came across this book by luck and what luck it turned out to be. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I would like to congratulate her on her play on words because the way that she wrote was beautiful. And this says a lot since the book is so dark and gritty. It almost felt like poetry to me.

This book is far more than the main characters- Nicholas and Sarah. It's about Nicholas, Max and Reed and never in my wildest dreams, would I have imagined the way things turned out. It is like roller coasters where you know that something is going to happen while you are quietly climbing and then BAM! out of nowhere you find yourself falling and you have no idea how to stop it.

This book was very very dark but I have to be honest, I loved Darius. If you are planning to read this book then you should know that Darius is the villain. Even if I hated the way that he mistreated Sarah I absolutely loved the way that the author portrayed him. He is a villain to the core and he acts just like villains do.

Contrary to other books where the harm done by the villains seem like a small tap on the back of someone's hand, Darius takes villainy to a whole new level. I am personally someone who doesn't like pain giving or but in this story, I could not skip those parts. It's like you know that you should not be watching something because it would have a negative impact on you but you can't stop yourself because it was so mesmerizing.

I wish that I could be more detailed about the main characters but I can't since I feel connected to all of them. I especially felt Darius's greed for power because in a way Darius enacts that hidden, dark and gritty part that each one of us have somewhere inside us.

I normally write reviews in gifs but this was one of those books that you read completely at random and it ends up by just royally fucking you up and you know- Oh you know that you will never be the same again.

It was a beautiful read and I can't wait to start the second one. Great job Lana Grayson. You managed to f*ck me up! I have been waiting for one such book for such a long time. *Thumbs up*

WHOA!! I did not expect that! Takeover was one exquisitely twisted, decadently dark, titillatingly story of a taboo romance.

I went in to this story with blinders, going only off a recommendation and was so happy to have delved into these pages. Lana Grayson delivered an eloquent tale of sex, love, passion, power and deceit; and I absorbed every word.

This dark tale brings us the story of young, innocent and naive Sarah. Thrust into the corporate world while still attending college as she tries to salvage her family's company and defend it from the Bennetts. Her family's long time enemy. The animosity between the two families was palpable and spanned from grudges that started since before Sarah was born. As the only child left in the Atwood empire, she's taken it upon herself to protect her family's legacy with everything she has.

The Bennetts' hatred for the Atwood family goes much deeper than Sarah even realized and though she fights them every chance she gets in the corporate world, her hands are tied on a personal level because her mother married the Bennetts ' patriarch. Which makes her the little sister they never wanted.

The familial bond does nothing to douse the flame of hatred they still harbor for her family and they resort to the most sinister, unthinkable plan possible in order to get the moves they need for a checkmate in their corporate battle of chess.

Throughout this book, I truly felt like I was experiencing the pain, betrayal, torture and passion that Sarah went through. I saw through her eyes. Felt with her heart and desired all the delectable and sinful things that were done to heart. I also twinged and ached with the pain she had to endure.

Takeover packs a punch when it comes to delivering a story that encompasses you and thrusting you into the tale of a taboo love.

Never realized I would like a book like this...

Okay. So I grabbed this book from one review that said it is what Indebted by Pepper Winters wanted to do but couldn't. She made me believe what was happening. She was partly right...
Because at the core of all these dark romances is a level of depravity that each author is trying to one up. To the point where it's really hard to believe anything happening to anyone in these books. Because I know rich folks get away with a lot of shenanigans (see Donald Trump running for president). But to this level...

Okay. Let's say I buy it. To enjoy this book you HAVE to believe the plot. So I believed it. Yet even as I was believing it I figured out a way to kill the father with it looking natural. They are all equally wealthy and powerful.

At the end of the day I skipped the 'torture' scenes. I believe it was why I enjoyed it how I did. I skimmed to know what was happening without getting angry about it. I am kinda in love with all the brothers. I think they underestimated their fathers deterioration. I personally don't think it's 'warped' each man I believe is in love with her. Maybe that's why I gave this some room. I adore multi-partner parings. I see something horrible happening. I think she's going to get pregnant. Yet, from a believable stand point in struggling to see a HEA. Only because I believe Sarah deserves the vindication of killing Darius as the only happy ever after. I also believe she deserves those shares in the company. I like Max best, just sayin'.

I need a breather before I dive into book two. Maybe I'll wait until book three is out so I don't abuse myself waiting.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! This book proves money corrupts and power turns money hungry people into evil monsters. Two duelling conglomerate businesses of Bennett and Atwood makes the Hatfield and McCoys feud look like a kiddie play fight. These two families have so many disturbing secrets that come to light after half the Atwood family dies leaving a devastated mom and young twenty year Sarah to pick up the pieces. The buried decisions of her died brothers and dad means Sarah's world as she knew it was nothing but lies and deceptions. She has now inherited more than just her family's business, she must come to terms with the Bennett's plans for her future.

This book is disturbing dark with taboo sexual exploits, murder and revenge and mental and physical torture. Sarah Atwood proves her resolve after everything that she has endured. She rises above the sorrow , tears and hate to find her HEA. I loved this book!

This may have been a good read if the author would have labeled it different. As the dark twisted story it is not as a romance. Rape, Kidnapping, beating and she loves it? Get real. If Either of these sick sadistic boys loved her they would have gotten her away from their father they would have helped her escape at least got the police there to arrest their dad not helped him. They are as sick and sadistic as he is. And then you want us to believe she enjoys being raped? And loves her rapist? Sick and twisted and for whats with keeping on and on bringing the "breeding" up??? They could figure out a way way to kill Darius I mean they have unlimited funds get a drug that makes him have a heart attack with no way to figure it out they can't be that stupid. I watch enough T.V. to know it exists. Rape, abuse, more rape more abuse and she loves it wth??? And the grammatical errors omg. Oh and the last scene before you finished this part of the book? Yea Nick rapes her while his brothers watch throws her to the floor then asks who next? And she loves it??? I mean I like dark romance but romance this isn't.

4 TAKEOVER stars!!

We know all fairy tales contains step-mother, step-sister and fairy godmother. Well, let’s just said that Takeover by Lana Grayson is the opposite except, there is no fairy godmother. It’s about survival with no one can help. After the death of her father and brothers, Sarah Atwood (20) still in college when she have to take her family multi-billion dollar company under her wings.

description

Atwood and Bennett has been rival for years. When the tragedy struck Atwood, Darius Bennet his scheme to takeover Atwood Industries. Darius married Sarah’s mother with hope that he can have Sarah’s approval to sell Atwood to Bennett. The problem starts when Sarah reject Darius’ proposal and he feel offended. He wants to make Sarah suffer and order his sons (also Sarah’s step brothers) to kidnap her. Nicholas (29), Maxwell (27) and Reed Bennett (24). Sarah was brought into Bennett’ mansion in the middle of nowhere to be rape and pregnant by his step brothers, so Sarah can produce an heir for Bennett so Darius can take Atwood Industries.

Nicholas, Maxwell and Reed was raised to be an alpha male with iron fist by their father. Nicholas is the oldest and the heir of Bennett’s empire. He’s very intimidating yet have soft baritone voice that can melt your bones; half devil and half angel. Sarah who is stubborn yet brave is a challenge for Nicholas and he enjoyed it. Nicholas liked Sarah and he will never intend to harm her. He became possessive with her and started to stake his claim on her. The brothers has plan and they couldn’t risk to fail so they have to go along with Darius’ craziness. Darius became sick bastard and blinded by his obsession to take Atwood Industries.

Sarah learns to survive and I amazed with her strength to survive even after everything that she has been through. I was shocked with her secret and it still twist until the end. What a freaking ride! Damn, I agreed that this book it’s not for everyone. Takeover contains dark and twisted story with humiliation and degradation that made my jaw dropped many times. This book is well-written and has natural paced that make me hooked until the end. The sex maybe not for your taste but, well… it's rough enough to make my heart beat so fast. There is so many sexual interaction and dirty talk but none of them is trashy. Still, I couldn’t feel the chemistry between Sarah and her step-brothers. I couldn't hate them because each of them have their own struggles. I want them to develop better.

I have to warn you with a huge cliffhanger at the end. I hated it because have to wait for the next book to see what will happen and this isn’t going to end pretty. Takeover definitely not for the faint of heart. It’s crazy, savage and brutal.

Sexometer: 4/5 ★★★★☆

2.5 stars. By Goodreads rating two stars means it's an okay read and I don't think i can say i didn't like it which would be a one star rating. Anyways the start of this book was interesting though I wouldn't say it was promising. Sarah is working hard to keep her company from a rival family who she believes killed her father- her father who really didn't like her because she was a girl and he wanted a third son. So throughout the book she is blindly devoted to this dead man thinking he meant well when it came to the family business and her only to find out that he didn't give two shits about her really. She is kidnapped by the rival family who wants her to give them a heir so they can take her family company.

At first i liked how the brothers reacted to their father's plan to "breed" her. They didn't want to do it but then it just became apparent they were just spineless, little, cowards who did anything their dad told them.

Nicholas was the worst. He was annoying saying that she was his and he would protect her but then acted all cool, calm and collected when she was being beaten by his father. Only to run to her later and repeat the same thing again about how he would protect her but don't anger his father blah, blah, blah. Then Max beats her and he runs to his brother and hits him asking him all kinds of questions about what he did to her and stuff. What an idiot.

Basically the real villain is the dad who will do anything and everything he can to save his family business. But even though his sons don't like the situation they do it anyways because Nick has some takeover plan to over throw his dad from the company and take it over. So i guess as the readers we are suppose to believe that the sons are still the good guys. Well i guess i can cut Reed some slack since he actually does and try to get away from their dad but the older two brothers? No dice for me. They're jerks.

As for Sarah I like her determination to find out her father's death. But I am looking for something different with stories like this. I would like it that the heroine doesn't fall for the people she wants to bring down.

Not reading the second book though. There is a one star review that reveals who knocks her up on the review page on the second book. but I don't want to read it because I'm no longer interested in the story anymore. I want something different.
