J'ai découvert Jean Giono sur le tard. Celui-ci n'est pas son plus connu (vous avez peut-être entendu parler de "L'homme qui plantait des arbres"). Mais quelles descriptions! C'est à croire que, tout comme dans "Colline", le personnage principal, c'est le paysage. Ou la contrée à l'intérieur de laquelle les humains évoluent (une partie de la Provence), et eux semblent bien petits et bien démunis face à cette terre qu'ils essaient d'apprivoiser.

Jean Giono, the only son of a cobbler and a laundress, was one of France’s greatest writers. His prodigious literary output included stories, essays, poetry,plays, filmscripts, translations and over thirty novels, many of which have been translated into English.
