This little gem of a book follows one man's tentative grip on reality with harrowing frankness, but also with humor and heart. He is both lost and saved, and in the end must go on in a kind of in-between state. I think it's true, as one reviewer said, that he "universalizes" this experience. The ups and downs may be more prolonged and/or intense, but we've all been there.

I'd strongly recommend this book to anyone with interests in mental health, nature, and the depth of human connections. It was amazing.
