Jordan’s Return is a beachside story of a second chance at lost love.

Jordan escapes to the Virginia coast to recuperate from a tragic accident caused by her abusive ex-husband. Where she runs into the man that broke her heart, Rob Tyler.

Rob isn’t going to let this chance to rekindle a relationship is Jordan. But Jordan is having none of it and isn’t ready to let Rob back into her life especially now after the mistreatment she took from her ex.

Misunderstandings and communication ends up becoming Jordan and Rob’s biggest obstacle.

Charming and sweet Jordan’s Return is a heart melting second chance romance.

Jordan Manning has had nothing but rainy days. An abusive marriage that has left her broken and bruised. A car accident that proved nearly fatal and single parenthood have made her reevaluate what's important. Hoping to find a balance between her happiness and that of her children she plans a getaway. Nothing but blue skies is her hope for the future. Will she make it happen? Rob is a blessing she never saw coming. His brand of TLC has her questioning trying love again. Is a second chance in the cards for these two? I received a copy of Jordan's Return by Samantha Chase in exchange for an honest review. Ms. Chase has a way of making the ugliness in life, beautiful. With the stroke of a pen she provides escape into a story of healing, bravery and second chances. If anyone deserved a new beginning it was Jordan. Her character is inspiring to victims of abuse everywhere. She never lost her spirit despite the rocky road she had to travel.

Jordan Manning was 16 when she fell madly in love with Rob Tyler. For two years they had the best high school romance even talking about their future together and dreams of a family. That was all shattered when they were at a party separately and Jordan caught him making out with the biggest slut in the school.
She was so angry and hurt she had to learn to move on especially since he never bothered to come and try and explain why he even did what he did. Unfortunately, when she looks at it now 13 years later she is still hurt and a little angry. Yet, Eric had come along and was there to be the man who would be that guy for her. Her prince charming. But her ex who had been the all-American and class president was totally not what everyone thought he was. Hell, not even what she knew he was before she married him. He had her fooled too. It wasn’t until after they married that he showed his true horrible colors.
Eric was controlling, abusive, and money hungry. He was totally selfish to the point of being jealous of their own boys. He didn’t want children he told her once she became pregnant he just wanted her to be a working professional. Who didn't want to have to share her. When the beatings started she couldn't believe she was that girl. He even told her she ruined his plans for a bright wealthy future. From that moment on he planned his escape from his family. To the point of how he could leave them the poorest. If the courts would have allowed it he would have too. But that didn’t work in his favor because do to his gloating and drinking with Jordan on last time he caused an injury accident so she sued him. (Now mind you this was a joy ride she did not want to go on but he took a heavy hand to get her to go so she went.) He is a big shot so he settled out of court and then out of the blue relinquished custody of their boys saying he never wanted them in the first place. Another way to get out of paying for them. Such a nice guy!
So, to finish recovering and get away with her boys all alone without family fussing over her like she has had due to her injuries for several months. She takes them to a beach house in a small Virginia Beach town. She rents a house for a month and even though the boys grumble they do as their mom asks. Joe is 12 and Jake is 8, they are much older since the accident especially Joe, since he heard his so called father disclose his hatred toward wanting the boys in the first place and then of course the accident his mom was in because of his dad. Poor kid had aged right before her eyes.
On their way to find the grocery store in the little town they stop to ask for directions and guess who it is? You got it Rob! Life since they last saw each other looks good on him. He offers to show them by jumping in the car. Since he called her by name the boys were not afraid of him just curious, so she explains he was a friend from high school. Once they knew that they were all over him with questions about the area. Even invited him to dinner which he shamefully accepted.
See how these two deal with the undealt with emotions from the past and move forward. Or can they? Is there enough true friendship left to find their way back to maybe become something to one another? Can they even move through the past hurts with real truths and honest? Will the boys get hurt again or are the adults too afraid to even take the first steps?
I really enjoyed the realism of the story. The dynamics of the blended family emotions was so true. The pains of a broken family and the ways of the adult to choose to live their lives can affect the child’s so badly. The pains of parting and making up can become a drug of its own for the couple but when children are involved you have to put them first. Sometimes to the extreme. I think that was Jordan’s path at first out of protection not only for her heart but for her children that she was forgetting to allow them to live and be children. Also for her to still be a woman and not just a mom. I give this 5++++ stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at:

Samantha Chase is my go -to author when I am in the mood for a well -written contemporary novel with wonderful characters and great storyline. She effortlessly blends modern social issues, snappy dialogue and romance in each of her books.
The prologue of Jordan’s Return contained just enough background information on Jordan Manning and her abusive ex-husband Eric to interest me. The storyline in this novel is different than Ms. Chase’s other series; it’s poignant and more serious in tone. The novel deals with physical and emotional abuse and its’ aftereffects. Jordan’s path toward healing and forgiveness is a captivating story that stayed with me long after I finished reading the novel.
Jordan has travelled to the shore with her two sons to recuperate from a car accident and make plans for the future. She runs into her first love Rob Tyler while looking for the grocery store. I loved how Jordan’s sons, Jake and Joe, supplied Rob with the information on Jordan’s divorce and the reason for their vacation. Jordan invites Rob to dinner and she is amazed at how well Rob gets along with her boys. Can Jordan get past Rob’s high school transgression and move forward?
The pacing of the couples second chance romance and the dialogue between the characters is superb! Ms. Chase writes an excellent second chance romance and this couple’s journey isn’t easy. They have to forgive each other, get reacquainted and understand each other after many years apart before they can plan for the future. Ms. Chase doesn’t shy away from the emotional and physical abuse that Jordan endured in her first marriage. The author presents an honest portrayal of Jordan’s state of mind as she comes to terms with her feelings. I liked that the author gave hope to Jordan and to her sons when Rob returned into her life. Second chances can happen! Loved the dialogue between the main characters and between Rob and Jordan’s sons.
I would love to see the author write another woman’s fiction novel! And, I recommend this book to anyone who loves a second chance at romance novel filled with lots of humor and love!

A late summer vacation with her two boys is supposed to be a time of healing for Jordan. With her ex-husband walking away from her boys and Jordan recovering from a horrific accident, the last person she ever thought she would cross paths with is her high school boyfriend Rob. But this re-connection does more for Jordan and her boys than she ever imagined. Can you find love again when all hope was lost? Will Rob be willing to become a parental figure for the boys? With emotions running high and characters the reader cannot help but fall in love with this was a wonderful read.

For the majority of this book I was enjoying the tale of second chance love. Jordan is a loving mother who is trying to do the best for her boys, and her sons are great, despite all they’ve been through. I even liked Rob, especially when he was with the boys and they were bonding. It was all nice and easy and sweet and enjoyable.

Until it wasn’t. Yes, there are some old resentments about how they broke up and why, and what it led to and some childish jealous moments, but then Rob proved just how much of a dick he could be. One moment he’s sweet and loving, the next he lays it all out, says that’s how things are going to go, then throws a tantrum because Jordan doesn’t immediately fall into line.

What made it worse for me was that he acknowledge that Jordan had the right to be cautious after what she’d been through, before adding with any man except him. They haven’t seen each other for over a decade, but she should instantly trust him because Reasons! He acts like a complete brat, yet Jordan is the one who ends up feeling guilty. It really got on my nerves and pretty much spoiled the rest of the book for me.

After that I noticed a few more things that I’d skipped over before: such as why isn’t Jordan’s ex in jail? He was driving drunk, he almost killed her, and he laughed about it the whole time. That guy is a serious danger to the public. Rob also drives drunk during the book, but it’s okay ’cause he knows it’s a bad idea, but he’s tired and he just wants to go home. AS IF THAT MAKES IT ANY BETTER! Unprotected sex, every time. But it’s fine, ’cause true love and all. (Not fine. They don’t even talk about it until the end of the book.) Jordan’s marriage isn’t explored at all. Was it all fine and dandy until he left then? Because that guy sounds like he had a screw loose long before. Aside from the crash – which happened after the divorce – we know nothing about her marriage or the boys’ relationship with their father.

I sort of checked out towards the end of the book, since Rob’s behaviour just left me feeling disappointed. Yes, he comes through in a crisis, but he was ignoring Jordan in the meantime and really, the way the two interact afterwards is annoying childish. In fact, when you look at their entire relationship, it (and their own maturity) clearly hasn’t progressed much since they were teenagers.

So, turns out I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I’d thought and hoped. Which is a huge shame because Chase is an author I’d been wanting to try for ages, and I thought starting at the beginning would be a great idea. Now I’m not sure if picking up another of her books would be a good idea. Hopefully it was just this one that didn’t work for me, but I’ll be thinking carefully before I try another.

A sweet and hot second-chance-at-love contemporary romance!

Rob had been her first lover, and she had been his. It was always amazing to her that when all her friends spoke of losing their virginity, they all said how awkward it was, but with Rob it had been beautiful. They had been so in love at seventeen and so confident of their future together that making love had been as natural to them as the simple act of breathing.

JORDAN'S RETURN by Samantha Chase is a sweet and hot second-chance-at-love contemporary romance set in a small beach-side town. This book was originally published in 2011 and was re-released on June 7, 2016. This couple definitely had sparks and they deserved happiness, but communication was a serious obstacle for them resulting in angst aplenty.

This is the story of single mother Jordan Manning and successful architect Rob Tyler. Supporting characters included Jordan's kids and the sisters of both primary characters which gave the story a family feel. Jordan is recently divorced from an abusive husband and all she wants now is a quiet summer at the beach with time to reconnect with her sons and regain her health and confidence. She didn't expect to run into the first love of her life there - who had broken her heart and caused her to run into the arms of the man who later became her husband. Meanwhile, Rob is determined not to let Jordan disappear from his life a second time. He wants the future they both envisioned years ago..

Samantha is one of my favorite authors. This couple's story is both heart-breaking and heart-warming. I wanted to shake each of them as much as I was pulling for them. They were obviously perfect for each other - but, durn it, it sure wasn't a given that they'd find their way back to trusting and loving each other. I would recommend JORDAN'S RETURN to anyone who enjoys light, small-town second-chance romances.

Favorite Quotes:

I want to have you all to myself, with no worries, no distractions. Just you, me, and this incredible need we have for each other.

Slinky? Who was she kidding? She didn't even own anything slinky anymore. What was the use? No one had seen her in any form of undress in a long time.

And when he's not busy rescuing lonely women and protecting their children, he spends his spare time flying around in his red cape stopping all the evil in the world and getting stranded kittens out of trees!

My Review:

I frequently gravitate towards second chance romances, and I have found that Samantha Chase does them oh so well. Jordan's Return was an angsty yet sweet love story for past first-loves, with stubborn characters that couldn't seem to get out of their own way. Jordan had suffered abuse in her first marriage and having had so little control then, she seemed overly fraught in maintaining tight control over everything else and had become overly rigid and a frustrating "Debbie Downer." At least she occasionally displayed some awareness of this tendency... enough for me to feel empathy for her - and kept me from throwing my kindle... Jordan's Return was actually this prodigious woman's first book, so I am all puffed up to have read her first and latest books - now if I could just add enough hours in the day to read the mountain of books she has written in between.

This debut novel by Samantha Chase was one that I could not put down! As a fan of contemporary romances, Jordan's Return had it all. The characters were compelling and likable and their story was sweet and just a little bit spicy! This one is a keeper!

Jordan Manning has returned to the coast attempting to rebuild her life and give her two young boys a month of peace. With the bulk of her injuries healed, she attempts to put the past behind and spend time with her boys. Now that her abusive good for nothing ex husband is out of the picture she never imagined she would run into the one man she hasn't forgotten.

Rob Tyler never imagined that the woman he loved would dump him for one stupid mistake, one she never let him explain. It's been years and he's never gotten over her or the life they could've had. When she returns to the sleepy small town unexpectedly it will reignite his desire and leave him wondering if those feelings are still there.

This second chance, small town romance is one of hope and forgiveness. Will they be able to forgive themselves and each other for one mistake? Jordan has vowed to never put herself in a situation that leaves her helpless, not in control and harms her children. Will she finally allow herself to explore feelings she has for Rob?

Will Jordan accept that Rob isn't the same man she knew in high school or her ex-husband. It's time to trust her heart and allow her boys to be doted on as well.

The chemistry between them is off the charts and has more spice than some of her other books. This spicy, intimate story is tender and takes you into a world of family and hope. A great book to add to your summer reading stash, or anytime. Kick off your shoes, grab a blanket and take a trip to this coastal town. You'll be glad you did.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advance reader copy for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Romance is not my thing so I am not a good resource for review of this book. I read for a challenge.

I admire the author’s story and am very proud of her.

Glad this was quick. I started with an eyeroll regarding her husband and his evilness. Glad she explains in the main part why/how she married him.

The misunderstandings and roadblocks were too contrived.

Irksome at times especially the contrived misunderstandings. It did not work that they’d leave a woman who just fainted with dizzy spells on her own. And also that her hs ex boyfriend and his sister/family friend of her sister just happened to live where she vacationed - it seemed the author had thought to place this in her old stomping grounds (e.g., she thought she remembered where the grocery was) - it seemed something was slightly off. Of course our romantic interest owns the restaurant. Boo. Eye roll at the opening scene or the one where in front of kids the ex said he didn’t want the child. He was a villain even without these scenes. They made her seen budget conscious at first with the off season rental and then she has plenty of money?

But overall typical romance, a broad muscled back hunk some sex scenes and just when you thought all was hopeless, a happy ending.

Second chances can be sweet

A horrible ending to a marriage and a surreal beginning to a new romance. Jordan is an incredible woman and mom who is figuring out how to recover from an earlier accident and be a single mom. On a family vacation she runs into her
former boyfriend and first love. The rest of the story follows the rekindling of their romance and the boys building a loving family with their new friend and then father Rob.

There is a great blend of angst, sweetness, humor and uncertainty throughout the book. The boys reactions to their moms health, Robs attention, the new town, etc. was sweet and heartbreaking at times as the story revealed how their dad had treated his family. Rob and Jordan have some amazing siblings and their interference was perfect for the story and their relationship.

This is a lovely story with a HEA. I always enjoy books that feature characters that overcome some type of obstacle and here both character has to handle their own self doubts and precious concerns. As with all SC books I highly recommend it!

Loved reading Jordan and Rob's story of second-chance love. After a bad break-up in high school, Jordan relied on Eric to help her through the pain. After a bad marriage to Eric, a nasty divorce and a horrific accident caused by said ex, Jordan takes a vacation to the Virginia beaches were she runs into Rob. When Rob sees Jordan, he feels he now has a second chance to the love he has never forgotten. Will Jordan's vacation, along with her two boys, be the best ever and give him the chance to prove that he can be a husband and father. A wonderful story of love, second chances, and healing wounds.

Absolutely loved this book! Read it in under 2 days! Only recently found this author, but am hooked! High school sweethearts find each other again after a chance meeting years later. Jordan is trying to move on from an abusive relationship when she sees Rob again. She has 2 boys she is raising on her own and he is exactly what this little family needs. Miscommunication and insecurities arise, but the love that had for each other so long ago, is strong enough to mend their respective broken hearts and bring them back together.

Samantha Chase writes a story that will tug at your heart. If you believe in second chances, then you will love this book. Jordan is dealing with so much and just wants a break from it all with her two sons. A summer at the beach sounds perfect. Little did she know that she would run into her first love on her first day. As they reconnect, will the issues still plaguing Jordan keep them apart or will they finally find their happily ever after? You won't want to put it down until the very end
