About the author

Gunnar B. Kvaran (b. 1955) is the curator of the 57th October Salon in Belgrade, together with Danielle Kvaran. He was curator of the Icelandic pavilion at the Venice Biennale 1984-90; director of the Reykjavik Art Museum between 1989-1997; and from 1997 to 2001 was Director of the Bergen Art Museum, Norway.
