Every March I find projects for the month in March Patterns, Projects and Plans to Perk Up Early Learning Programs. One of the children's favorites is to make the puppets using the character patterns I have made from felt and the felt board to act out nursery rhymes that they know. I have also given them the paper patterns to cut and paste on small mac & cheese boxes (perfect size for little hands) and they can use their own puppets to act out the stories. Other topics that fit with spring lessons include lessons on the environment and littering and pages on planting a Spring garden in used containers to start plants for the garden. This is part of a set of book with ideas for each month and all are wonderful references for ideas in the early childhood classroom.
