"The Techniques Of Astral Projection" is a short "how-to" book that gives us a glimpse at what the Astral realm has to offer and how to access it. The book starts with a brief introduction to the nature of Astral Projection and out-of-body experiences, then tackles some frequently met ideas and points when speaking of Astral matters, such as the silver cord and whether there are any dangers when dealing with Astral Projection. Eventually, the author explains the different stages of Astral Projection and then provides us with techniques to help the reader to reach the said stages of Astral Projection. The techniques are pretty straight forward and easy to comprehend even to the beginners interested in such matters, but even those with experience are bound to find something to help on their journey.
Well first of all the illustrations are fabulous. But after you finish looking at them the next thing to strike is that such an amazing feat is summarised in 93 pages - because I thought Astral Projection would have been more complicated than that.
Part One: The Nature of Astral Project This part is vital for anyone who didn't know what astral projection (henceforth AP) is but there's even something for those familiar with the field. I didn't know ectoplasm could be gathered from those in a shared area. Of course this means if you want to literally project into somewhere there need to be a lot of other people around. Think of it this way - if you astrally project into a forest and there's no one there to donate ectoplasm, will anyone see you?
Through this and the following part (Stages of Astral Projection) there are lots of nice little examples of AP. This is my favourite part and I'd probably have liked lots more. I'm still uncertain as to how AP is more effective at garnering clairvoyant information than just clairvoyance though. One would think that projecting yourself to another place and providing accurate information on the place and things that happened there would be enough. But projecting yourself somewhere to then have to read their mind seems like a lot of hard work.
In "Part Three: The Techniques" You get the really useful information. For example, do not be surprised if the body falls asleep while astrally projecting. Similarly, things can look different to how they actually are and are influenced by emotions (yours and those of people in the vicinity you are projecting to) so you need to understand how to see past this.
And the only thing I can remember about Part Four: The Astral World, is that it ends on a very important warning. Think about sex, in even the slightest way and you will be immediately catapulted back to your body. Let that be a lesson to you *wags finger*
The one thing I think anyone can get from this book is the underlying principle "Energy Follows Thought". It manifests in a few different ways in the book but it's something that could be quite influential and positive if people take it and use it properly.

An interesting and short book about the 'astral plane' from an experienced writer on OBE. It talks about how to project yourself safely into the astral plane without any panic or worry. I've only had many lucid dreams so I can't comment on the effectiveness of getting out of body.
It doesn't go in depth as another free book, "Consciousness Beyond the Body", which is another great book about out of body experiences, lucid dreams, and consciousness. It's written by many different writers from many different backgrounds.
