Completely obsessed with alleged government conspiracies, a New York City cab driver sees sinister plots and cover-ups in even the most ordinary of situations. He also has no hesitation to report them all to an acquaintance, a bright, yet skeptical lawyer. But when one of his most far-fetched theories turns out to be true, the two are suddenly running for their very lives. The Warner Bros. motion picture starring Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewart will open July, 1997.
Jerry Fletcher is a New York taxi cab driver who is seeing only conspiracies around him. Alice Fletcher's father has died in strange circumstances. Both of them have something to prove and they have to work together. Of course, FBI, CIA and are involved and they are far from being the good boys. But not everyone is the person who looks to be, so the problems are even more complicated. Just to a point...
Strange enough, the book is almost not-known to the large mass of readers. Meantime, the eponymous movie made after it is quite famous. And the explanation is quite simple: Julia Roberts in her prime time and Mel Gibson can sell everything.
I saw the movie first, but it was so far before I picked up the book that I had forgotten a lot of the plot twists. I ended up liking the book far more than I thought I would. It somehow managed to be both pleasant and easy to read while suspenseful and exciting.
Dibintangi Mel Gibson dan Julia Roberts, disutradarai Richard Donner. Dan... naskahnya ditulis oleh Brian Helgeland!!! Aku suka sekali naskah film L.A. Confidential-nya!
Terbalik dengan naskah L.A.
You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off you. You'd be like Heaven to touch. I wanna hold you so much. At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off you.
Pardon the way that I stare. There's nothing else to compare. The sight of you leaves me weak. There are no words left to speak, But if you feel like I feel, Please let me know that it's real. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off you.
I love you, baby, And if it's quite alright, I need you, baby, To warm a lonely night. I love you, baby. Trust in me when I say: Oh, pretty baby, Don't bring me down, I pray. Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay And let me love you, baby. Let me love you.
