I did not like this book at all. Even as a beginner book, I thought it glossed over many topics that required more detail even to the beginner forensic professional. This book, published in 2005, is also woefully out of date. I would recommend another book (non beginner level): "Real Digital Forensics" by Jones, Beitlich, and Rose. If you are looking for better beginner level material, then if you can stand death by power point, go through the EC-Council’s CHFI slides.
I must confess it was a very technically-oriented book, but I enjoyed it very much. It sure opened up my eyes to just how much work can be involved in this field.
